I actually has a couple of questions about the bus routing for the Saratoga Springs Resort. Is the Springs or Congress Park the last stop before it departs for the parks? Also, do the busses stop in the front of the resort as well like they do at OKW for instance?

Thank You

The bus route for parks is Grandstand, Paddocks, Congress Park, Springs. Springs is considered the "front" of the resort, it is just across from the theme'd pool and check in. The DTD bus does the opposite route, so it begins at springs and ends at Grandstand. The busses run every 20 minutes for each park.

The THV internal shuttle only goes to the Springs in the morning and it then goes to both springs and grandstand (in that order) after 10 (or 11, can't remember). It actually circles around and goes in the back entrance to SSR. It runs every 10 minutes.

Ok great thank you! I also read somewhere...I think maybe in Frohmer's maybe...that SSR is the furthest resort from the parks by bus. Did anyone experience that? When I stayed at SSR in '08 we had a car and never used the busses.

No, I wouldn't consider SSR the furthest from the Theme Parks, but it and OKW are the only DVC's not "near" a theme park. AKV is obviously pretty close to AK, but is definitely the furthest from MK and Epcot. BCV/BWV are closest to Epcot and HS, but a little bit away from AK and MK. BLT will be closest to MK but furthest away from HS and AK. SSR and OKW are more centralized and it will take about the same time to get to any park....but closest to DTD.

Thanks TisBit...thats kind of what I thought too and I was a little surprised when I read that. I went back and checked and it was in Frohmer's WDW Guide that mentioned SSR as the furthest away...In any case thanks for the clarification!

Correction to a previous post, unless something has changed in the past couple of months the DTD bus does indeed start at the Springs but ends at Congress Park, not the Grandstand. It went Springs, Grandstand, Carousel, Paddocks, Congress Park and then to DTD Market Place and finally the West Side/Pleasure Island.

That is so not true.

SSR is:
closer to Epcot, Studios and MK than AKV, Kidani
closer to Epcot, Studios and AK than VWL
closer to Epcot, Studios and AK than BLT
closer to MK than AKV, BWV and BCV.

So in truth SSR has a great location, being very centrally located to everything Disney offers, I did not even include the fact it is right next door to DD and very close to Typhoon Lagoon.

Here is a great chart that DIS provides that show distance to all parks from all resorts, you will see that SSR is not that bad at all compared to others.

I really do not understand how these books get such wrong info.

Maybe I need to send this link to Frohmers,:lmao:

You could be right, I have never taken a bus to DTD (always boat or walk) I just remembered being told it went opposite to help serve as internal resort transportation to get back from Springs.
