I just found out the High Rock Springs pool will be closed for refurbishment when we are there the first week of March. We tend to spend a good part of our trip at the pool and Paddock is our favorite spot, so now I am worried that Paddock is going to get the spill over from High Rock Springs. Should we move our stay to OKW instead? How is their main pool and slide and will it get super busy? We like the proximity to DS. Another option is to move to CSR as my DD (age 10) says she likes the look of their pool; however, I have read that with the GDT there now that the main pool gets very overcrowded. DD is very much into a good slide. Thank you!

Paddock has a decent slide better than a lot of resorts. The best slides: Boardwalk is by far the fastest and fun. Poly is fast and the most fun as it is mostly covered. AKL Kidani is also fast and fun. I would put those 3 on top of Padddock. I do not recall the slide at OKW as it has been a while but I do not recall being bad so maybe as good or similar to Paddock. CR-BLT, Jambo house, BC, WL all have slow and in some cases short slides. GF Main Pool is a mirror image of the Poly pool but some how the slide just does not compare to Poly although they are similar size. Hard to predict how crowded a pool will be. For us we have never found them to be crowded period when we go and we spend a good amount of time at them.

After many stay at OKW it has a special place in my heart. The slide is good and I would say on par with SSR. You can still catch the boat to DS from OKW, rather than walk, but I appreciate that is not as convenient.

As an aside, the best slide by far is BCV at Stormalong Bay IMHO. BLT slide is great, and if staying at the BLT you can use CR pool as well, but CR guests can't use BLT, at least this was the rule when we stayed.

Thank you. I should point out that deluxe is out of our price range but SSR and OKW works for our price range through renting points. I do love boardwalk!

Thank you. BCV is booked and out of our price range. How are the food options for QS and at the main pool at OKW? I will miss being able to just walk to DS to grab QS for dinner for the family, who sometimes just like to eat at our room. Thanks!

Goods to Go has the usual Disney fare, but we love the tuna sandwich (feeds two of us alongside some potato chips) but it's only a small place and doesn't have as many options to dine as SSR. I agree being able to walk to DS would be a bonus, just near the walkway is my favourite QS of all - Earl of Sandwich :D

The pool area is lovely, and there's a small beach area, a games room, community hall and what has to be the smallest bar on Disney property, the Gurgling Suitcase. I find the central hub a lovely place to just people watch, especially the boats coming and going.

(We could only afford BCV with rented points and only stayed for 4 nights out of the 17 night trip)
