Ssr 7/2-7/7

Haven't had a chance to give a small trip report so here we go...

Trip included: myself, DH, DD5, DM, DF (my family's 5th trip to DVC since 4/05 - M&D first trip in many years...first with their granddaughter)

Checked in at noon on 7/2...had to wait until 3:15 for the room. Usually I wouldn't mind but we were with my parents and I wanted everything perfect. That's ok...we went to DTD for lunch (Earl of Sandwich always yummy) and food shopping.

When we got our rooms (2 bedroom lockoff) it was in the Paddock. I had asked and everything in the Springs was booked. The CM at checkin said I didn't request the Springs. When I responsed I didn't like to ask for too much...I was just happy to be there. She said ask away!

Anyway our part of the room was great! A 1bedroom?? Never a studio again! Loved the bathroom...came in handy in the morning when one of us would be in one part in the shower and the other would be getting DD ready. It was also nice to have the studio attached...and able to close the door when we needed alone time!

We went to the quiet pool for the first time - very nice! Also walked to the Springs pool...5 minute walk over the bridge with little legs DD!

We ate at wonderful places...no waits beyond our ADR times. (love the DDE card!) Parks were nice...we went early left at lunchtime and returned at dinner. Even the 4th of July at MGM was pleasant.

As I reported somewhere else, we did have a "fire drill" one night. Apparently there was a short in the system...we saw them working on it the next day.

All in all we had a great time in our home away from home. My parents were quite impressed and haven't stopped talking about it! Between DVC, DDE, and AP, we saved a lot of money...I think that impressed them the most!

Now after 5 trips in 15 months, we have to wait until next July. We are waiting for the arrival of our new prince in October!! More to look foward to!!

Nice report, thanks, I think the fire drill would have scared my dw to death, we had a house fire some years ago she still thinks about it. Good to know your parents where impressed, in another thread someone was looking for a place to impress there family. Thanks again for the good report.

The fire alarm was definitely not planned. Fire truck responsed with lights but the firemen were not dressed for fire. They must have known about the problem. Thankfully, my DD never woke up. She is petrified of alarms ever since our last trip in April.

Was that the trip where the toaster ate the dish towel? I still remeber that trip report. At least you did not have to evacuate because of smoke this time.
Glad to hear that your folks liked SSR. I stayed in May and thought it was great.

We were there at the same time, 7/4 - 7/8. We probably ran into each other at the pool everyday and didn't know. Glad to hear you and your family had a great trip. This was our first stay at SSR and we loved it.

Glad you had a nice trip! You sound sort of like us...we did three trips last year, the last one while I was pregnant. Then we had our new guy and we won't be back to WDW till next March. It's hard to wait over a year to get back, but it's all good!
