SSR-1/2 Marathon!!!!

My wife just called from a hot tub in her one bedroom at SSR. She finished the 1/2 marathon this morning with a time of 2hrs and 43 minutes. She had a blast, and now is enjoying our DVC membership to its fullest! She is thrilled with the one bedroom, and I am sure the hot tub was a huge bonus after running the race.

Apparently the weather is very cold, she said it was close to 32 if not colder at the start (6:00am).

Again - we are so thankful that we have joined and are able to afford to have this membership. It has treated us so well up to this point, we are very happy with SSR and DVC.

Wow does she deserve that hot tub right now!!!!! Congrats to her! I hae no idea about marathon time - but that sounds really good to me!

Congratulations to your wife!!

We just left (unwillingly LOL!!) SSR yesterday and around 4pm I tried getting one more night and MS said that DVC was completely booked because of the marathon.

It was chilly and didnt really warm up today at all.

eporter66, congrats to your wife. 13.1 miles is a great run. I have had the pleasure of running the half and the full in past years. The Disney races have always been cold at the start. My first Disney marathon had ice in the Epcot parking lot! The shivvering helps release the nervous energy before the race.
If your wife is new to running, tell her to relax the training for a couple of weeks. The coaches say to rest one day for every mile of a long distance race. 13 days for half, 26 days for full.
Of yeah, the Donald Duck medals are cool!

Tell your wife congrats! I just started running again and someday will run the full marathon there! Dont know when yet, but it is on the list of things to do.
