SSMC2006 cruise friends

I did watch Good Morning America today. At the end of the show they mentioned that the DCL segment will show tomorrow (Wednesday).

Sleigh bells ring
are you listening
in the lane
snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
were happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland!

The same thing here too. Unfortunately it's too cold for the salt to work on the roads so they are really slippery.

It must be taking Deanna's soccer coach a while to get home from work. His daughter just called and said he cancelled practice tonight, so at least we don't have to go out in this mess tonight. :woohoo:

I'm heading out of this winter wonderland as some of you call it to sunny southern California for a week. Unfortunately my bones and mind can't take much more of this stuff - pretty to look at - yes, but I am having a tough time making it thru the days lately. I'll check in from the road.

Well we made it home!

1 great time with friends. I agree Cindy we will definetly have to do that again. It was so nice to see you all again. The "ducky" will have a place of honor on the new boat!

TWO HOOTERS visited ( Amy we now have 8 in the passports already)

Great pic, Steve! I'm glad to hear that you guys had a good time at Hooters!! I'll have to get busy on our passports too!!!

We had an awful day Saturday. After soccer we got a call from my father in law. Our dear dalmatian (who has lived with him for 2 1/2 years because Grandpa gives lots of snacks and attention) was not able to stand up and was vomiting blood. We knew her days were getting numbered her back hips have been getting weaker and weaker. We went to his house to pick her up and take her to the animal hospital. The vet checked her out and felt a very large mass in her abdomen - he suspected a tumor. Kelsey was 12 1/2 years old and we knew the only decision was to let her go. She was not in any visable pain. Her poor old body just gave out. We lost a great friend (even if she was a blockhead). I know she is in a much better place - chasing squirrels and romping in the green grass and swimming in clear ponds. Kelsey was a great companion for my father in law. She made sure he got out of the house and they WALKED and WALKED. We now are worried about him. He needs companionship. Today everyone is doing much better.
Oh Erin!! I'm SO sorry for your loss!! Losing a pet is so tough, it's definitely losing a family member!!!
Deanna was asking if they were going to close schools tomorrow. The only time I remember my other kids getting a day off was when the wind chills were reaching the -50º mark. Not sure of the actual temps for tonight and tomorrow but I heard the wind chills are suppose to be -25 or so.
EEEEEkkkkk, that is just down-right frigid!!!:scared1:
Is it spring yet?
Not quite yet for you guys!!! But, it seems to be trying to come around here!!! We've gotten rain, rain, rain here lately!!
The temps dropped continously all day yesterday and the wind was blowing all day. Today they called off school, a bit surprised but I'm sure it has to do with the fact that they can't control what parents would send a child to school dressed in and a few minutes outside waiting for a bus in this weather is dangerous.

Tomorrow is suppose to be a heat wave of 24º. :rotfl:
OMG - I definitely DON'T miss northern winters!!!
From the warm south (ok today it was warm but is rainy) I thought I would share a few quick photos of our baby progress.

Safe travels, Mary!!!

So, what a whirlwind week it has been here!!

We have been SO obsessed lately with practice for Emily's cheer stuff for the past week, that I haven't done much of anything else! Then, my mom came to down for a few days, we went to Disney, and on top of that Emily and Madison were both sick. But, it's all good now!

And, on a good note, Emily's team took home 2nd place in their division at their competition at the FL state fair in Tampa on Saturday. I'll have to get some pictures up, after I get them downloaded from the camera.

Then, we took my mom and the girls to Orlando and saw the Hannah Montana 3D movie at Downtown Disney and spent the night at VWL. Then, we got up Sunday morning and headed to MK. Just for kicks, Chris went to ask at City Hall, and he was able to be the Veteran of the Day. That's where they do the Flag Retreat on Main St at 5pm. Chris got to help, then we marched in a little parade down Main St with the band, security (or whatever they were) and the Dapper Dans. It was really cool.

Then, poor Madison came down with a fever and we left about 7pm to head back home. She's been home from school for the past couple of days, and seems to have finally gotten rid of the fever. So, she'll be excited to go back to school in the morning!!!

So, how's everyone else???

Amy how cool about Chris being the Veteran of the Day. The Flag ceremony is definitely worth seeing.

Congrats to Emily's team on placing 2nd. :cheer2:

Amy, I've seen that ceremony and it's very moving. Cool that Chris had the chance to participate.

It's nice to see you post.

I saw the Disney segment on Good Morning America. Can you believe it was all about that family ;) It looked pretty windy on CC and heavy clouds. Hopefully for those down there it clears up for the day. There were some shots of Clayton AKA Hollywood, last I heard he was the Asst Cruise Director.

Congrats to Chris for being Veteran of the Day!:cheer2:

Sunny and in the 20's here today:banana:

Pathetic when you get excited over a temp in the 20's :confused3

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
Time to get away from this nasty cold weather. We're going to leave around 10 PM tonight. I figure this way the girls will hopefully sleep through the night. Deanna is bringing a friend with us....I'm not sure how quiet a car can be with two 13yo girls in it. :scared: We should be in Jacksonville around 3 PM on Friday. Our 4 nights at OKW came through so we'll head down to WDW on Tuesday and stay until Saturday morning when we'll have to get back on the road and make our way home .

Off to get an oil change and a car wash.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I'm here in Caliifornia and it's definitely warmer temps - got in late yesterday afternoon and went out to dinner with my aunt and we chatted for a while last night when my eyes said it was time for some rest - I actually slept thru the night without pain - going to enjoy some visiting time and maybe head down to DL for a day during my trip.

Safe travels Gail - have a great time and tell OKW I'll be back in a few weeks!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

Gail - travel safe and have fun. We hit the world in 3 weeks woo hoo!

Mary - glad you arrived safe and slept well.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments - you really make a girl feel fabulous about her expansion ;)

Julie - sorry that I haven't congratulated you and Matt on the upcoming change in your lives - you look great! Enjoy - life changes quickly.

I'm sitting here thinking of Gail & John --- having a couple of rums & cokes. I hope they are too. :drinking1 :drinking1

It feels like we are in a heat wave today. :sunny: I hear it's suppose to rain tomorrow, which will be a welcome change after all the snow we've had lately.

Diana & Tina, did you two make it off the ship okay? Some of us are waiting to hear all about your cruise. :rolleyes1
