SS and OKW to Downtown Disney Question

I currently have points to Boardwalk and I am contemplating adding a small points contract at either SS or OKW and remember last time I stayed at OKW there was a boat to Downtown Disney. So my question, do they still have that boat service? How often does it make the trip and is it from OKW and SS? any one remember how long it takes?

Yes, both SSR and OKW offer boat service to Disney Springs. Right now, due to Covid, i am not sure if they are running, but in normal times, they came about every 20 minutes.

It was not running in September due to Covid, I don't know if it restarted yet.

Boats from OKW & SSR to DS were not running in late Oct. when we were there.

As of right now there have been no reports that Disney has resumed boat service between OKW and DS or SSR and DS.

It is possible to walk from either one. From SSR it could be 2 minutes or 15 minutes depending on your room location. From OKW more like 20 to 35 depending on your room location. The OKW path to DS closes at sunset as it is not lit.

If you book a preferred room at SSR and put your request in to be as close to Disney Springs as possible, you will likely wind up reasonably close to walk. Depending when you are going it is possible that boat service will not have resumed or that the SSR renovation project will be underway in the buildings near the dock, which have not been renovated yet.

You need to book Near Hospitality House to get one of the villas closest to the boat dock area. Those would be Bldg 11-14 and 23-26 and many times they go at seven months out. Bldg 27, 28 or 29 might also be close. There are a few on Miller's Road that could be an easy walk to the boat dock. SSR and OKW are separate boats. The boat doesn't stop at both locations when it is running. Currently boats are not running to Disney Springs from either PO resort since both are closed, from OKW or from SSR. I'm not sure the shuttle boat from one side of Disney Springs to the other is even running right now.
