Yeah, I know what you mean. A couple nights ago I pulled out an old video of DS21's first trip when he was 2-1/2 and we watched part of it. It was great seeing that look once again, and DS13 was cracking up at his older brother. I really need to get some of those old VHS tapes recorded onto DVD before we can't watch them anymore!

no not an invite marv...i would fear what would happen if you had done that while i was on our trip.

Don't worry Dan, late night trips to the shower in your scivvies, you and Glenn going all Village People together, Candi coming on to Glenn...... I couldn't have ever made THAT stuff up!

I am thinking of doing a trip report. I would probably start it this weekend. We didn't get as much of food and wine in as I wanted since it was crazy busy there. But we did do the MNSSHP and the D23 Sip and Stroll event. I am sure there are people out there who would like to know about those things.

As for the que. I didn't get to go through the one in Disney World since we had a FP. But from what I can tell, and remember, they are totally different. I happen to like the HS one better.

well let me know when you start it up, a link would work as well i tend to loss them if i dont hvae a link to start my reading.

the D23 event sounds fun i would like to hear more about those.

I just found your trip report and I love it! How old is your little guy, Parker? Just curious because the next time I am at WDW it will be with my 2 year old son and the first time we have ever had a small child with us!

during the trip he was 2 and a few months. it was great and a totally different experience from when we took him at 8 months.

you will love it and make sure you take lots of pictures...

well we are tentatively wanting to go back around the end of sept. first of oct. of that year, try and qualify for the free dinning and lapse over into oct. a little to get the food and wine festival and hit Mickey halloween party.

Chapter 23. Time to split up.

After TSM it was time to split up. The parents were heading to the big rides to get fast passes for us, and we headed over to see about getting some photopass pics with Cars.

On the way over we passed the star wars stuff, and saw this chewy that was easily over 7 foot tall, he was huge, and taking picutres with people on the props there.

to our suprise we find that there are not photopass people at the cars area yet...they must have all been with the star wars character lines

afterwards, we thought we would try out our luck with the characters in the animation academy, which the nice thing about the size of MGM only took a few minutes to get to the other side of the park.

We skipped the preshow and entered through the shop at the end to see what characters were out. we did not see hugs a lot bear out yet. but we did see minnie coming out.

parker was first in line and ran up to her and gave her a giant hug. The photopass lady was just standing there with a stance that was more like an "annoyed high school kid chewing gum twirling her hair that she was at work stance"

i was so happy to see parker giving out big hugs and how excited he was that i was only videoing the moment and not taking pictures. since i figured the photopass person would get them. well she didnt.

so i turned to her and said "hey would you mind taking some picutres of my son since that is kinda your job"

in sort of a daze response she goes " oh yeah okay"

and we asked parker if he wanted to hug minnie again which he gladly did, while still excited about it, it wasnt the same level as the first time.

you could even tell that minnie overheard me and in her body language was giving the photoperson the stink eye

we didnt dwell on it for long and minnie asked parker for his hand.

with our character visit done and my parents done with there ride, we had them meet us for the next mickey mouse club house show.

we snagged seats right along the isle so if parker wanted he had extra room to dance.

some of the show for people who have not seen it before.

for the show parker went from a stairing daze

to dancing and clapping.

it was another great show and we were very excited for our little man.

it was time to split up again, my parents took parker to the great movie ride...which they said parker loved.

candi and i hit up TOT

now in my secrets to disney book there is a part that talks about the electric boxes when you leave the pre show room...that if you pull them you will get a suprise...so when we exited, i asked the CM about it and if the ones right there were the right ones in the book. he looked at me like i had 4 heads, and said just keep moving. like he was peeved at me or something.

so not sure if he didnt know what i was talking about or what, but i think it was the box as disney would not put an electric box in that location with a shut off switch that people could pull tha was actually tied to something that could shut the ride down.

Lesson learned: next time just pull it and said the book told me to.


not wanting to dwell on it, we ventured to the rest of the line to see what we could see. i was looking around next to the boiler and looked down to see what looked like a huge pile of spilled cheetos. i showed it to candi and she said i dont think someone dropped a bag of cheetos over the side...that is just silly.

i insisted that they were indeed cheetos but with the lighting hte way it was we did not know.

i said well lets let the flash do the work.

this is my cheeto pile.

it was a rusty pile of chain.
looked like cheetos to me.



we asked for the back row middle and were granted it.

after our ride, we went over by RNRC and saw that they had a pretty long line so we got the group fast passes to use later in the day.



then it was time to meet up with the rest of the family, and we encounter something else that wasnt in our radar and actually was a pleasant suprise.

I didn't want to meet Lotso while I was at DHS. I hated him in the movie. He was evil!

Looks like Parker was having fun at Playhouse Disney. I remember taking Trent there for his first time. So much fun.

I haven't been to Playhouse Disney since it was Bear in the Blue House. Before Playhouse Disney was in there they had some sort of a character breakfast in there with some Aladdin characters. I don't remember it quite beign like some of the other character meals - and our family picture wasn't with any actual characters - just a border. But it was neat. It's another one of those - "I'll have to dig out the old pictures and refresh my memory" cases.


Rusty chain - cheetos yeah - I see the resemblance.....

i remember when it was the bear in the blue house, wow i dont remember the breakfast there at all, i must have been really young then. (not that you are old) but you know what i mean.

yep that first day gave us some great TR material, i remember thinking that on the way down that it was going to be a doozy of a report to start.

you would love it if u camped there it is so much fun and still has the disney feel to it.

yep i know what you mean, that hair on his costum seems so real.

i have a costum that i get to wear at work some times for events, and it is fun when in there, cause you can make expressions with it even though the "face" never changes. the hands and the rest of hte body language do wonders for expressions.


not sure why we wanted the back row. i just rember asking for it for some reason.

especially when there job is to capture the magic of the moment. im glad i said something cause like i said earlier i just had a video of it, and didnt get a picture with my own camera cause i knew that they would get it on theres.

yep next time im pulling it no matter what even if it turns the ride off, then its disneys fault for putting a master switch in that location.
