Squirrel!!

Maybe you can invite DW MeanLaureen over to spend a day with you. We had a squirrel get in our basement via the chimney (walkout basement with a fireplace). She talked it into submission and carried it outside sitting on a towel. I think she's like the Squirrel Whisperer or something.

I am glad to hear there are other crazy squirrel people out there. We have caught about 25 squirrels in our attic over the last few years, one by one, in the have-a-heart trap. My husband was so convinced that it was the same one returning time and time again (after driving him to woods 4 miles away) that he (shhh!) spray painted the little guy's tail with white spray paint. He slept better for weeks after, knowing it wasn't the same darn squirrel returning to torture him. :rotfl:

I read this to my DH and he was lol. He and the neighbor were wondering the same thing. I will tell him about not separating the mom from the babies during the springtime. :teeth:

omgosh this was the funniest story i've heard in forever.

:scared1: I have Squirrel Wrestling going on in the attic of my garage right now. In the springtime it turns into Squirrel Rodeo.

We have the squirrel relay races in our attic. I hate them!

Oh no! Now he looks like a brown skunk.:rotfl2:

we actually saved a baby squirrel when my sister was having some trees cut down. the family was killed and left this little guy an orphan. so we fed him out of a bottle and when he got old enough let him go. he still lives behind my sister's house. he hangs out on her porch sometimes.

Ok, so last summer we had three squirrels up in our attic ( one mother and two babies), we got alot of advice from our friends before we hired a wildlife control to come get them out.
Number one : don't put moth balls in your attic, this is an old wise tale, did we do this ya but the first hot day ,we woke up chocking because we couldn't take the smell in our home, it took months before our house quit smelling like an old closet...my dh spent an hour trying to retrieve those moth balls ,will never do that again, plus didn't run these squirrels off at all.
Number two : Once they make you their home, they are there even if you take then two miles away, they will be back, you have to take them very very far away, is there a squirrel farm out where you live ? And if there are babies please don't separate them from the mom.
Number three: You better board up ( fix ) where they are getting in at because more will come in there place. You would be suprised what they can crawl though. I payed three hundred dollars for all this squirrel knowledge  . But I was freaked out by them, it sounded as if there were hundreds of them and there were only three small squirrels. We got to where we could even call them and they would peak their little heads out of the side of my gutter/ attic outside.:rolleyes1

You are right on all accounts. It has cost me in the thousands over the years b/c of squirrels. I say the only good squirrel is a DEAD squirrel. Sorry PITA! You need to take them more than 4 miles away. In our state the law says if you get a trapper to get rid of them they need to be ELIMINATED. Yep put to sleep so they never wake up. These animals wreak so much havoc that if you catch one releasing them is really not a great idea. THEY'll be baaaaaaaaack.

OH and might I add I do not live in the country and there is only ONE tree near my house.
