UGH! DS (almost 20 months) started squealing a few weeks ago. He does this obviously anytime he doesn't get his way. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say that this past 6 weeks have not been normal by any stretch of the means at our house. We flew to Arizona for Thanksgiving, then he was sick when we got home so no preschool. About the time he was well enough to go back to mother's morning out, it closed for the Christmas holidays. Christmas and Santa brought 4 new teeth all at the same time and of course more travelling. THEN, on Christmas night, dh's father passsed away so dh had to again fly back to Arizona. It was the 1st time dh was away from ds. He has been squealing more than usual this past few weeks.

I have tried to whisper to him while he was squealing in hopes he would stop and be quiet so he could hear what I was saying, Any other tried and true ideas you may have?!?!? Thanks in advance for ANY advice ... lol!

:grouphug: no advice, but sorry this is happening. sure can give you a headache.

When he squeals ignore him. Then go for distraction. That is pretty much what you can do for that age group.

Oh to be back where you are, lol. How about sneak out the video cam to have fun with them when they are older...heheheheh.

We showed 14yodd NYE, 1999 at my sisters (she was 8)..what a pill she was.
Funny to laugh about it now, but at the time I know it is tough.

Hang in there mom!
