It will be nice having your mom there to help get everything done and together. Although not sure how you're going to sleep you're just both going to up all night giggling talking about Disney! :rotfl:

Aww! You guys must have started young! I can't wait to say we have been together half our lives....although that will mean I'm in my 60's....hmmm okay not in a rush for that!!! :rotfl2:

Yeah, we have been together since we were 18. married when i was 19 and he was 20........definitely started young but it has worked out well for us so far. hehehehe :cloud9:

Finally getting around to playing catch up!

Congrats on getting the full 5k done as a run! Thats awesome!

I also followed you on instagram (along with Ashley as well)

Glad you were able to find a time for BoG that worked for you & getting a better FP+ for Mine Train.

Hello my fine Disney-fied friends!

Not too much to share, per usual :rotfl:, I'm getting into hyper Disney mode though. Just scrolling through Instagram looking at #waltdisneyworld #wdw #animalkingdomlodge. Some pictures are just so pretty and awesome!

I've actually started to get nervous about writing a trip report. Getting enough pictures, taking the time to make notes, getting enough pictures, lol. Although I guess everyone does their reports their own way. I have seen a report or two with almost no pictures....don't worry, I will have pictures!! :goodvibes

I am also nervous about my back. Yesterday we spent 30-45 minutes wandering around Canadian Tire (big box store) and my lower back started to ache. Pain wasn't radiating just, kinda achey like I needed to stretch it. NOT GOOD! I may try to see Andy's chiropractor to see if its something he can help with. At the same time I need to tell them to be careful about my neck, which has gotten better but still not 100% so I need to be careful. Egads, I feel like I am falling apart!!

Disney-Character-Roommates_Oogie-Boogie.jpg

I mean how awful would it be to get to there and my back start hurting?! Waaaah!!

animated-gif-animals-crying-emperors-new-groove-disney-1360315833.gif

Hopefully the doc can help and I have added in lower back stretches to my neck stretching time. Seriously getting older is not fun sometimes! Strangely though I don't have back issues when I jog. The body is so weird and confusing! :worried:

Okay enough of my nail biting and lip wibbling, lets get to some fun Disney things!

I'm pretty happy with getting to 5K, although now that I have done it for a bit, its still not getting easier, which I was hoping it would lol. Oh well I'm sure at some point it will! I'm nowhere close to you with your long runs but I hope to one day!! :goodvibes

Yay for the follow on Instagram! Thanks!

Mmmm...you're making me hungry! I predict very full bellies on your Epcot days!!

I hope your back does ok! I feel your pain, im that worried about me feet! You should pick up some Johnson's foot soak to soak in for pain at night (it's not just for feet) and some bio freeze or something similar for your back. Also bring some ibuprofen or something just in case.

:-)

lol, I predict exploding bellies!! :rotfl:

I have some peppermint lotion for my feet but I'll look into the foot soak! Better to have it just incase! Also didn't know what Biofreeze was but thats a good idea to bring something like that for the back! Thanks for the tip! I will also have Aleve on hand as well. Hopefully all that combined will stave off the pain!

Getting closer now! For you soooo close!! Can not contain the excitement :hyper:!!

Oh man! I hope you don't have any back trouble at Disney!

That list sounds yummy! What a fun time you guys are going to have!!:thumbsup2

Hopefully I will be able to try a few things for you this weekend and let you know how they were!! Although not sure how good my opinion will be since I like seafood...LOL

That is a great list!! For shame that the escargot is not on your list...haha!! I bet it is going to be wonderful this year! October is getting very close! I am getting excited for my birthday trip, not knowing what is going on and all that jazz!

I can't wait to see all of the prices for the food, that is definitely going to decide what things we get this time, and what things we get next time. Maybe that will help you out too, if you are planning on only spending a certain amount on that stuff, I think we are just gonna put a set amount on one of those wristband giftcards and just use that, it always makes things a lot easier!

We are leaving tomorrow, so I will have to get caught up on your PTR when I get back if you write anything else! :yay: Not too much longer to wait anymore, it is getting very close!! :cheer2:

Is this your first ever Trip Report? Oooh, it does take some getting used to. Having written many here's my advice. Now admittedly I don't get a ton of readers - except my ABD BSM one had a LOT - so you can take this as you will.

I don't take notes during the trip generally. What I do is I take lots and lots of pictures. The weirdest thing is getting used to taking pictures of things you wouldn't normally do. The outsides of rides, your food. Things you buy.

Then, in the evening, and not usually every evening, I just note down the order of what we did - just sort of in list form. Between the pictures and the list, it's usually enough to allow me to remember what we did as I'm writing the report, which can often take 6 months or longer to complete (a lot of people I notice never finish theirs.)

As far as back issue - I feel your pain. My back is pretty good at the moment, which is rare. I also have heel spur issues which flare up at their worst at WDW, usually leaving me limping badly by the end of the day. I would recommend heavy doses of Vitamin I (Ibuprofen) but that's a no-no mixed with heavy doses of alcohol.

I'm impressed you went through the list of foods to decide which ones you want to try. I am a super OCD planner (as you can probably tell if you read my TR) but I can't be bothered with selecting menu items. Our plan for F&W is to go up to each booth and say "what do we want to try", with our only goal of trying something at each booth before the three days of the trip are up.

I have a chiropractor appt on the weekend and will have Aleve on hand at Disney and will do lots and lots of stretching so hopefully the back will be okay. (Dear Lord please let it be okay!!)

Yeah escargot isn't really my thing. I like the butter and garlic but not looking to spend the money for a bite to see if I like it. Although if Andy's interested in it I may have to try it.

Hope you guys have a great trip!!

Yeap, never done a trip report before. I'm excited to try it. Even if no one reads it I will love going back over it myself when I'm missing Disney! Thank you for the tips! Making a list sounds a lot less daunting and time consuming then more detailed notes!

I definitely have Aleve on my to pack list and will have some regular Ibuprofen as well just incase. I'm not a huge drinker so I'm not worried about mixing. Good to know that if you survived with your back and spurs that it can be done!!

The food & wine list was just to make sure we didn't miss something really awesome that we would really like to try! Can't wait, it will be awesome!!

I wish you very good luck at the chiropractor! I always seemed to have good luck there myself - so I hope the same for you.

Trips are getting closer and closer. October is SO VERY SOON!

I think your trip report would be fun to read. I want to read all the October trip report, just in case I'm in the background somewhere in one of them!

Nice F&W list. Is it blasphemy to say we probably won't eat anything special??

It went okay at the chiropractors, my upper back is now a bit sore but I'm going to go back on tuesday and we will see how I feel after that. I was sore on my UPPER back for most of today. I just don't want to be feeling like this on the trip!! Its a bit devastating. Hopefully it can be fixed in time.

lol, not blasphemy at all. Its all about having something thats special to you and is super yummy!! :goodvibes

ohhhhhhhhh I miss Disney food ALREADY!!! all your plans looks fantastic! :cheer2:

I love everything and a HUGE congrats on your 5K run!

lol, SO excited for the Disney food!! I think thats the number 1 thing Andy is looking forward to as we tend to be clean eaters at home. Vacation means all bets are off! Cupcake, fries and ice cream everyday? Yes please!!! :lmao:

Thank you on the 5K! Never thought I could do it, but just time and persistance!!

Can't wait to read all about your trip!! Still on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened after you fell a sleep without packing the night before you leave!! :scared1:

OMG. I will tell you here.. EVERY. SINGLE. MEAL. was mouth watering good. which never happens with us... always hit or miss out there except this trip!!!

My report is coming along.. SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY.. :thumbsup2

Yes all bets are off. You can think of it this way: the amount of walking you do just burns off whatever your eating... Well, that's what i tell myself! :lmao:

Tip??? BRING WATER!!! and LOTS OF IT.

Well my dear and darling Dis-ers I think I am officially out of steam on this PTR! Which is fine as our trip is rapidly approaching and I have been running around trying to get all the last few things done.

The good news is my back is better. Not 100% but after 4 visits to the chiropractor I am feeling more upbeat about our trip and that my back won't ruin it completely! Will still have to be careful and take our time though. And my neck is better as well, again not 100% but as long as we take precautions we will have a wonderful time! (Seriously though I'm feeling like I'm falling apart with all these pains and foibles! :rolleyes2: Oh to be in my 20's again! :rotfl:)

Before I go though wanted to share/recommend some fun videos and webisodes I really love!

The boxsox2001 family
I suggest starting with this video here. Its their second trip, but watch that and then go to trip 3 and 4 and then go back to 1. They are a hilarious and wonderful family. Their kids are cute and their daughter is uber adorable and the dad is riot. I love how its edited, the music and the guest and cast member(Including Main Street Barbara!) interactions. Its my go to feel good family Disney vids!

i4bound
Love this video! How they picked the song and made it into a music video and sing along with. The dad is again a riot and a total goober. Actually I believe they are on the dis somewhere as well.

Mousesteps Weekly
Something a little different. Jeff and Denise live in Florida, huge Disney fans and are in the parks weekly showing whats going on and covering special events. And while most of what they do is Disney they cover things all over Orlando, I even enjoy hearing about that! They are fun to listen too, I wouldn't say they banter but its still good and I love it everytime Jeff says "Its very suspicious!". I found them after seeing their Cabana Bay video and went back and started at episode one. You don't need to do that of course but I its nice if you have a trip coming up to see what they had last year at the time. They also post a lot of "B roll" where its not the webisode, just the video they shot.

Three little pigs
Okay, I just find this hilarious and now want to meet Practical Pig. This is the B roll from an Mousesteps episode from last year during long lost friends week(I don't know how to queue up the time but you can fast forward to 1 minute in). A group of Disney friends went to get there picture taken with the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf and brought forks with them. I love Practical Pigs reactions/actions and it just makes for a hilarious interaction with them. (Its made all the better because of Practical Pigs expression, fits perfectly).

Disney Alaska Cruise!
After watching AAshleySEG's video of her Alaskan cruise I knew she was awesome peeps. Even if you aren't into cruises its a great vid and lots of fun and you will have a tear in your eye at the end. The first couple of minutes is in Seattle before they board and is just as enjoyable to watch.

So with those listed I'm going to officially say farewell.

giphy-1.gif

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for joining me in my planning, worries, joy and dancing of this PTR. Helping me when I needed it and laughing along with me. I know my trip will be a better experience now because of all your help!

I will still be around the Dis commenting on your PTR's and TR's though. I will post once I get back to officially end this PTR which should hopefully include a link to my TR.

Now if you'll excuse me, there's somewhere I need to be.

Hmmm...okay wait I'm not going to Oz!! Oh well. Toodles!!

I hope you guys have a fantastic time! I cannot wait to read your Trip Report, no pressure though. Fingers crossed we may get to say Hi to each other, as we pass by on our planned adventures!

I am glad you love the Alaska video...it was definitely a fun trip we had! I had so much video footage I didn't know what to do with it all...lol!!

Sad the PTR is over, but I know I will still hear from you around here. Again, have an awesome trip, I am very glad to have gotten to know you through Disboards! :goodvibes
