I believe that Port Canaveral has a machine with 6 different penny designs. Can anyone clarify is the price is $0.51/penny? That seems to be standard, but I wouldn't put it past Disney to be $1.01. I'm trying to make sure I have enough change.

Sailing on Saturday and Beyond excited!

Thank you!

Hoping to get 3 sets, so it is very helpful to know how many quarters!

there are 6 different smash pennies = 2 quarters per penny = 12 quarters per set

you want 3 sets = 36 quarters

and 18 pennies

I think my math is right....:confused3 :rotfl2:

You have taken this to the next level! I really hadn't intended to make someone do the math for me. (Gawsh, I'd hope I was capable!:scratchin)

However, your kind generosity is most unexpected, and I thank you!:cutie:

Bring extra change in case the machine 'messes up' - always be prepared :)

Where are the machines? I have been on the Dream twice and the Fantasy once and I just don't remember seeing any machines.

As you are looking at the windows to get signed in and your KTTWC's the machines are to the right, just before the MM eats where you enter the ship.

Hope,this helps.

Here's our pressed penny plan of attack... we buy a mini-m&m tube, eat the candy, then fill with quarter/quarter/penny, quarter/quarter/penny, repeat 'til it's filled... that typically lasts us through the parks and terminal... there's nothing worse than running out of pennies or quarters and having nowhere to get change!!

P.S. If the kind person who gave me a quarter to keep my son from melting down in the terminal this past May is reading this... THANK YOU AGAIN!!

From what I know, I think that the pressed coin machines are concessions; Idk that Disney could increase the prices; the penny machines are standard (2 quarters + 1 penny). Even if there were quarter presses, they are also standard (5 quarters; 1 gets pressed).

Captain BJ, I am IMPRESSED at that display!! Did you make that? I would <3 to have something similar; I'm always thinking of how I can display my DCL coins tastefully. Right now, all I have is the cardboard folders for them, and I have one set of them in a regular photo frame with a mat around it. It looks juvenile and I'd really like a plaque like yours, although I do not have 9, I only have the 6 pennies. (How did you get the other 3 coins and plaque, and where?)

Silent auction item on one of our cruises ....

another poster said they found one buried in a nether corner of the gift shop

both were several years back

any decent frame shop should be able to duplicate - MIL owned a frame shop for a while so I know that with the right equipment this is easy peezy ... the metal plate can be done at any engraver ... or just use computer printing on card stock . . .
