Square tables for the reception??

I was looking at some pictures online and saw an episode of 'Whose Wedding is it Anyway' last night and square tables seem to be all the rage. I REALLY love the square look and on the show they said it's nice because it puts your guests closer together. I'm also thinking (on that same note) that it would save some room (which we'll need to do.) I wanted square vases in the middles of the tables with flowers, so I thought the square tables would be awesome! Does anyone know if this is an option with Disney? I know most things list tables of 10, but if we did square, we'd do tables of 8. Would they let us do that? Our reception will be in the Napa Room of the Cali Grill.

Thanks!

Sort of answering my own question here! ;) I went and looked in the Wishbook again, and there are some square table options (Asian, Lady & The Tramp, etc...) However, the price listed is for the entire decor shown and it's about $450-$500 per table!!!!!!! Has anyone ever used the square tables? What is the basic cost for a basic decor? Thanks :)

I love square tables too! Before we chose Disney I was convinced I was going to have them but my venue has to utilize what it already has.

I wanted square tables as well, but at the GF they have round tables.. and thats where I am having my reception.. Let me know what info you get:surfweb:

Square tables sound beautiful! And your idea of square flower arrangements sound really pretty! :)

I've already got square tables at my venue, but I'll be putting them together to make really long table arrangements. ;)

So if my venue has round tables in the pictures does that mean that's what we get? I think the Cali Grill dining room itself has square tables so I wonder if they could swap a few out? We'd only need 5 or 6.

hmm I really do not see why not? Disney always says they can do anything right? Hopefully the do not charge you too much though because they are known to do that as well :rotfl: good luvk!

I know, that's what I was thinking! Heck! I'll go move them myself if I need to ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That would be too funny! I wonder if you said that to them what they would say!

i was wondering, i am having my reception at the boardwalk marvin gardens room :goodvibes and we are having about 40ppl will they do 4tables of 10 or will they do 5 tables of 8 or like 7tables of like 6 :confused3 i would like to have 4 tables of 10 if i could because it would save me money on centerpieces :rotfl: and every dollar is counting at this point!! ;) Thanks for the help you guys are great :thumbsup2

The only issue I can think of with taking the tables from the California Grill dining room is if someone else was using the dining room while you are using the Napa room. But, if not, it seems like it shouldn't be an issue. And, they might have square tables you can use anyway. I plan on using square tables in the CG dining room, myself, because I love the look, too. Fingers crossed it works out for you!

Thanks! Our reception is at 1:00 and the CG isn't open for lunch, right? I saw on allearsnet that there's only a dinner menu, so I guess I just assumed they don't serve lunch. If that's true, the dining room should be empty during our reception and we'll have like our own little private party (unless another Disney Bride is renting it out the same day which would be cool too! ;) )

Yah, they're closed to the public. I just meant if another bride or private party was using it, although I don't think I've ever heard of two parties using the restaurant at the same time, so I'm guessing the chances aren't that great.

I am having my reception at the CG and according to the CG you must use their existing tables. . . .and for what I remember, they are all square. I am planning to have tables of 8. :cool1:

I thought they were square. I'm in the napa room, though. Do you think I could still have the square ones? I think the picture of the napa room on the Wishbook has round tables.

I don't see why not. They can just move them over. Your best bet is to ask your coordinator. She/He will tell u for sure. But I am almost 99.9% positive that the tables at the CG are square. You maybe right though, that the tables in the Napa Room are round. :confused3
