I downloaded Spybot the other day to get me out of pop up hell. Worked great but now if I browse using IE its extremely slow. AOL runs fine, just IE is messed up. Any suggestions???

Not too sure why your system is slowing down. We have Spybot too and we've never had a problem.....but I'll give this a *bump* in hopes someone else may be able to help you.:D

I use spybot and my IE does not seem slow. However, even with spybot I still got quite a few pop-ups. The I installed spyblaster and I don't think I'm getting any - and it's free!

Never tried spybot, but I got rid of 99% of pop-ups by downloading the Google toolbar off the google site. It has a pop-up blocker built in and it works great! haven't noticed any reduction in speed, either. it lets you know when it's blocked a pop-up in case you're on a site where you want to receive them...one click allows pop-ups from that site. Very easy to use, and my google search bar is always there so I never have to go over to google...added bonus!

I think I'll just dump spybot and see if that corrects the situation. Thanks all!!

Well just an update, I dumped spybot and IE is still slow!! So much for that connection. I guess I'll wait for my MIS person(my beloved stepson!!) to make a visit. The funny thing is that aol works fine(now isn't that a change!!)

download adaware

by lava soft...somthing is still in your system causing it to choke up
with spy ware its usally better to run several bot detection type softwares, also might want to consider running a virus scan

hope it helps
