4:00 am. Whos idea was it to leave on an early flight? Oh right, that would be me. We load up the crew and head to the airport. 6 months of planning, 2 hours in the car, 2 hours in the airport, 2 hours in the air and we are in Orlando. The airport looks much better than the last time we were here (the day Charley hit) No broken glass, no puddles, no smell of mildew. And this time, no luggage to haul through the airport.
We used Magical Express, it was mostly uneventful. One slight hitch when we checked in. Magical Express had us checking out two days later on Sunday. We are switching resorts on Sunday, not going home on Sunday. No worries, says the cm, Ill just delete this info and you can call and correct your departure date after you check in at the Beach Club Villas. No worries. Turns out she was right.
We arrived at All Star Music after a very brief wait for a bus. When we checked in we were helped by a wonderful cm, Faiza. Faiza is my new best friend. We were initially assigned two connecting rooms in the Country Fair building. For those of you who are unfamiliar with All Star Music, the Country Fair section is basically on the other side of the planet, waaaaaay far away from the main building and the bus stop.
Would it be possible for us to get rooms in the Jazz building? Faiza very nicely doesnt laugh at me. She does say she had checked already for another couple and nothing was available. After a few minutes of friendly banter, Well, I guess it wouldnt hurt to call and check, I just dont want you to get your hopes up.
Faiza called and the phone rang and rang and rang. I am not exaggerating, she waited at least 8 minutes for someone to pick up. Moose was ready to go, accept the long walk and get out of line already. Nope, Im waiting. Hi, this is Faiza, I have a family here who would like connecting rooms in Jazz Inn. Yes, I know. O.k.. Ha ha
Are they laughing at us? Faiza, my new best friend, says, No, in fact they have connecting rooms available for you and one of them is ready now.
No worries. I am so excited I am literally jumping up and down. Faiza says,Is she always like this? My husband responds, Yes, thats why I married her.
We head to our rooms so we can drop off our stuff (packed extra in case our luggage magically disappears)
