Thanks to the BEST family EVER!!!! We did not go near FOP during the first part of the day, because the line at rope drop was all the way back to Discovery Island bridge. We had a fun day after walking around Pandora and doing standby for Na'vi River Journey. ( loved it).
We went back to OKW for an afternoon rest and headed back to AK for the night. My DS and I had just made the decision we were going to do it. We were going in, no matter how long the SB line was. We arrived and found the SB time was posted at 110 minutes. A few seconds of hesitation, but then we said "if it takes all night until close, this is what we came back for." We were entering the line when a woman called over to me and asked me to come over to her. She was standing at the FP entrance. She asked me how many people were with me and I said just me and my son. She called him out of the line. She had 2 extra return pass tickets and wanted us to join them!!! WHAAAAATTTTT?????? OMG OMG OMG.... we enthusiastically accepted her offer and ended up going on the ride with the best family ever. The girls had already rode earlier in the day and they were so excited to be able to share with a family that was riding it for the 1st time. There was a malfunction with our ride, so we had to go back to the queue and be assigned another ride. But that was OK because we were having so much fun with this family from London. The ride was the best thing I have ever experienced on a WDW vacation. So much so that I announced when it was over I wanted to stay on the ride forever. I could not thank this family enough. When we exited, they further blessed us with 2 anytime FP tickets good on any ride in AK other than Pandora rides. They are good until 8/31.
It was Christmas, and this family was our Santa Claus.
