Sorry this is so long...
We just got back from our trip this past Saturday. We were there from June 17th - 24th for a convention...well the convention was the 18-21...but lets just say we barely made it to any of the work functions.... I just couldn't imagine being in WDW...and sitting in a conference room...listening to people talk! So we went to the opening events which were pretty neat...they bussed us to EPCOT and we had appetizers in America and then they had a section roped off for the Illuminations fireworks outside where dessert was served. That was pretty cool...and then the next day we sat in the conference in the morning...at lunch...and decided we had enough! There were 3 of us there and the other 15 in our group were at AK....so we called them and said we were meeting them there!...and that was history!
Speaking of AK...we took the bus there and the rest of our group met us at the gate and said we are going to a different park because they had no fun at all there.
But anyway...back to the Dusting....
The conference was held at the Contemporary resort. We booked it along time ago and they told us the rooms were just what was available. So I assumed we were going to be put in the wings...which I didn't care as long as it wasn't in the way corner because I am 7 months pregnant and that would be a long walk. So we checked in...he gave us a map of where we were located...and all 5 rooms we booked were in the Tower Bayside. What a shock! 2 rooms were on the 7th, 2 on the 8th & we were on the 9th! #4516. Nice and close to the elevators and ice...and what a view! The kids loved the light parade everynight (that we were there).
We had a great time in the parks..even though it was HOTTER THE HE**!!! I thought it would be worse though..especially being pregnant. But we just brought a small cooler in with water bottles and wet washclothes in it & we threw in our little mister fans and kept them cold, too. We got a double stroller everyday and put the cooler and the kids in there with plenty of room. What a life saver! Oh yeah..and whoever recommended to bring the Kool-aid singles for the water bottles...THANK YOU!!! when we refilled the bottles..yuck! They were wonderful...I got Kool-aid & lemon ade singles.
& then....on our last day at the parks (Friday)...we decided to do MGM/Disney Studios. We wanted to get there as close to opening as possible..but of course everyone was running a little late..so we got there about 8:30-8:45....got in the gate...looked back and all of the non-resort people were standing there just waiting to run in the gates when they opened. So we hurried down the street towards TOT to grab a fast pass...My dh, me, & kids were in the street and my sister, her family and my parents were on the sidewalk. As we were hurrying...a lady jumped out and stopped us and asked if we had a minute. So I said sure..(while everyone on the sidewalk looked a little angry I had stopped) She asked if my little ones like the Little Einsteins...My dh has no idea who they are because he is gone every morning before they come on. So I said yep...and she said they were testing a new character meal and wanted to know if we would like to try a free breakfast or lunch at the Hollywood & Vine...we looked at each other and said of course, but..it isn't just us. They are with us. (as I pointed to the rest of my family) She asked how many and I told her 12 all together (the others went to a different park then us)...and she said she could do breakfast at 11:00 for all of us. Of couse we said yes...so we went on our way to TOT & RNRC got fast passes and they also ended up riding TOT once...My mom, sister & I took the little kids to see The little Mermaid show while they did TOT...after that we had a few minutes, so we went and got fast passes to Indian Jones (the boys wanted to see it)...and had enough time to get to breakfast.
The kids had such a great time meeting The Little Einsteins (oh yeah & Jo JO & the lion were there also, but they really only cared about TLE's)...they had them all get up and dance with them & sing. It really made their last day! Now they are spoiled if we go back anytime soon. They did that and I had booked Chef Mickeys for one of the other days because my DD turned 3 a couple days after we got back! Boy that was cute when they brought her a cupcake with a candle in it. She thought the whole place was singing and waving their napkins just for her!
All in all (even after some arguing...especially with my oldest dd) we had such a great trip! I just have decided though that next time I really want to go when we aren't dripping wet the entire time from the heat. I have only been one time when it wasn't so hot & it rained the whole time...so next time I am planning a better time of year to go! So thanks to everyone for the tips! I used quite a few of them. & we all can't wait to go back...but maybe not such a big group and definitly NOT for work!

Glad to hear the interaction with the characters was good....How was the food?
