Springtime Magic vs. Disney Club Credit

Reading from the threads on the Disney Club Shipboard $50 credit, we used our Entertainment book discount and bought a one year membership for $31.95. Next, we called our TA and gave her our DC Membership # to get our credit. She informed us that Disney does NOT combine promotions and since we had already received a discount (Springtime Magic) we weren't eligible for the DC credit. Fine, but WHY would Disney offer the Disney Club Credit for the cruise only from bookings for 4/6 - 5/23 departures which coincide with the dates for Springtime Magic?!?

It's only $50, but every bit helps when you are taking a family of six on a cruise. Anyway, it's frustrating and any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I know it IS confusing, but there actually WAS a Disney Club credit combinable with Springtime Magic but since the Springtime Magic promotion has almost closed out they no longer offer the credit in conjunction with Springtime Magic. I just found that out last night.

I would still be sure your TA called to check on it, though, it's always worth a call.

Have a wonderful cruise! :)

Thanks Michelle,

Yes, my TA called Disney and spoke to "Jasmine" in the top accounts dept. Again, the whole thing just sounds "Goofy." The bummer is we are out the cash (again only $32) for the Disney Club membership and aren't getting the shipboard credit. Does our DC Card get us any discounts on the ships shops?

Hi bweppner

I did just what you did a couple of weeks ago. We were already booked using the Springtime Magic code. I joined the Disney Club mainly to get the magazine and the $50 shipboard credit.

I called DCL and they changed my booking from a Springtime Magic to a Disney Club discount and applied the $50 credit shipboard credit.

You might make out better by calling DCL directly yourself.

We booked our Magic cruise through CruisesOnly back in January. We received the springtime discount. I later joined the Disney Club, and I asked my TA to call DCL to apply the Disney Club credit. He called back and said that it was not available (something about the number of promotional discounts was already met.) Just a few days ago, I asked him to check again for me. I got it!! I don't know how I got both, but I am thrilled! Like you said, every little bit of money helps. My suggestion is to keep trying. Good luck.

For those of you who got the credit in the past, even two weeks ago, you got it while the offer was still valid with Springtime Magic. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.

Are you going to the Disney parks at all bweppner? There are DC discounts there but unfortunately no discounts on the ship. For a complete list of DC benefits you can go to:

Disney Club Benefits

Hope that helps! :)

WOW - success! I bypassed my TA (she's still good BTW) and called DCL direct. We have adjoining Cat. 10s for my family of six under two confirmation numbers. DCL honored the $50 Disney Club credit per Conf/Cabin # for a total of $100.00 of cabin credits!

Thanks for all the help and advice. I have printed out several threads to bring with us so we can plan and enjoy our cruise to the fullest.
