Spring "What are you reading?" Book Thread

I got some great book ideas from here a few months ago. I read about them here and was able to request them from my library (so, free!). I so appreciated hearing about the good books everyone was reading. Anyone want to share?

The two books I have read recently and loved were "The Help" and "Water for Elephants." Also checked out "Crossroads Cafe" but couldn't get through it.

Always looking for that next great page-turner!

I'm reading one of the True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse books right now, I can't remember the name of it. I also have Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot checked out from the library. I just finished Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner--it was really good. I'm looking forward to seeing the responses on this thread.....

I'm so happy there's a new book thread. I got some great titles from the last one. I recently finished The Help and just loved it. Someone had suggested The Kitchen House for those who enjoyed The Help. I read the reviews on amazon.com and decided to order it. It should be here any day, so it's my next read.

I loved Water for Elephants!! I am so glad someone here suggested it. I am reading Mistress of the Art of Death right now and it seems good. I also recommend books by Meg Cabot- Big Boned and Queen of Babble- both are part of series that I enjoy.

I am always looking for ideas for new authors. We have a Spring Break trip to Hilton Head coming up and I need something to read!!

Now that ds is reading bigger books I try to kind of preview what he is reading. So right now I am reading the second kingdom keepers book - Disney at dawn. I read the first one and it was pretty good especially for a kids book.

You should try Ridley Pearson's adult series as well - he is very good writer. I also read the first Kingdom Keepers and it was entertaining.

I have been on a Nora Roberts trilogy kick lately-
The Sign of Seven Trilogy right now- It is OK - now her best

I finished the Sookie Stackhouse books a while back and loved them so much I am anxiously awaiting for the 10th books release in May. Like the show True Blood, but it is nowhere near as good as the books. (Are the movies/tv shows ever as good as the book? Hey, that could be a thread! )

I enjoy Gregory Maguires book's. Getting ready to read Mirror, Mirror.

I LOVED Judy Blume's Summer Sisters. I am actually planning to buy it. (I had borrowed it from my cousin, we trade off books...like our own personal library)

And, if I need something to read and don't have anything "new"...I just re-read a Harry Potter book...the only thing I love as much as Disney is Harry!

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with it so far.

I just finished "The Almost Moon" by Alice Sebold and I found it to be a letdown after reading her previous book, "The Lovely Bones."

Has anybody read Jodi Piccoult's new book?

I"ve just finished reading Bulls Island and Return To Sullivan's Island by Dorothea Benton Frank. (She has a book called Sullivan's Island as well) She is my favorite Author. Her style is so fun. Most of her books are about growing up on the islands of South Carolina. They're extremely funny and just great stories for women. Especially if you live or have lived in the South. I haven't read anything by her that I didn't like. She's one of those writers that you can't WAIT to get her new book and then when it's over, you're sad because you doing know when the next one will be out.

I have read several Jodi Piccoult's books. They just don't "do it" for me. The endings are just too predictable and juvenile feeling to me somehow.

I think someone recommended Jennifer Donnelly in the previous thread. I read The Tea Rose and The Winter Rose and loved them. They remind me of Penny Vincenzi; I LOVE her Lytton family trilogy.

I've got The Wrong Mother by Sophie Hannah on my wish list. I've never read anything by her but it sounds good.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Hours by Karen White; it's pretty good.

I'm a horrible bookworm and have a Kindle wish means its WAY too easy for me to buy books on a whim now. haha.
Currently I'm re-reading the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. I read them back in highschool, and now I'm enjoying them SO much more!
She's a vampire hunter that kicks major butt - I love her!
If anyone wants to start the series (there's quite a few books, 12 or more I believe) the first one is called Guilty Pleasures.

I also have a mini library of WDW books on my Kindle... but I think I have all those memorized by now...

I finished Lavender Morning by Jude Deveraux & now I'm waiting to read her book Days of Gold, the next in the series.

I keep up with Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux & Catherine Coulter so I'm always waiting for their newest release.

Now for heavy reading I'm on this one[/FONT][FONT=&quot] The Constitution in Exile: How the Federal Government Has Seized Power by Rewriting the Supreme Law of the Land[/FONT][FONT=&quot] by Andrew Napolitano. It's very interesting so far.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]

If you LOOOOOOOVE the Outlander series like I do, , and you are looking for something similar, try the Wilderness series by Sara Donati. She just published the newest one & I am re-reading the others first.
