Hi all,

My next trip starts March 27th- April 4. The first few days will be in San Diego at Seaworld and the San Diego Zoo with Disneyland begininng on March 31st.

I have been reading several posts about higher then normal refurbs. during this time for the 60th but that just doesnt make sense to me. My dates seem to fall around their busy season and are within our (Las Vegas) Spring Break. I am quite surprised that they would refurb a lot of rides during their busy season.

Does anyone know when Disney would release an official reburb. schedule for my dates and where do I go to find it. Thanks everyone! :hourglass

This is a tough question because DLR doesn't have a set day when they release refurbishment information. You can find some information on their daily operating calendar, which is usually released about 45-days in advance. Some information might come out earlier, especially for longer refurbishments that start soon. In the end, all refurbishment information is subject to change, so you really won't know for sure until you get there that day.

They have a hotline you can call which will list the planned closures. You can also check the list here on wdwinfo, which comes from the hotline (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/plan.htm#rehab).

I think this year is a little different than most years. They are really trying to gear up for the 60th anniversary in the summer, which means attractions have to go do at some point between the start of the year and the start of the 60th, but no one really knows when the 60th will start.

In terms of Spring Break (which spans the week before and after Easter, based on the AP Blockout Calendar), I suspect they will try to avoid short-term closures, but some that span multiple weeks/months (e.g., the rumored Matterhorn closure) will go on as planned.

I agree with the above poster. You can start looking on the DL website about 6 weeks out, but nothing is written in stone and can change. The only ones you will know for sure is if it is already down in a refurb.
I know not what you wanted to hear :confused3

The great thing about Disney is there is so much to see, do and watch even with refurbs going on!

Have a magical time!

As PP said, Disney doesn't post anything until 6 weeks out. The longer refurbs I have read about during your time include Soarin and the Matterhorn. Splash reopens on 4/2 based on what I read somewhere... Can't remember where and it was nothing official! I know that's not a ton of help, but should manage expectations on some e-tickets.

There are many websites that post refurbishments, but the Disneyland official website is as official as it gets. Unfortunately, the closures are only posted 45 days in advance on their schedule, and they are always subject to change.

The reason that there are such a large number of refurbishments is due to the 60th anniversary celebration starting around mid-may (disney hasn't posted much information on the dates of the anniversary yet, so I am just speculating). Disney is preparing for the anniversary by taking rides down for maintenance and improvements one after another, and unfortunately, many of the long term refurbishments happen to take place during the busy season of spring break.

Although there will be larger than normal refurb activity for the early part of 2015, at least you will still have the longer park hours and the entertainment schedule will be at it's max. And you can always come back!
