~Canada Blooms: The Toronto Flower and Garden Show is the largest flower and garden show in the country. A volunteer driven not-for-profit horticultural society, Canada Blooms' mission is to create an annual international show that promotes and enhances the awareness of horticulture by featuring the best designs, products and services of amateur and professional participants. Canada Blooms has received national and international recognition and The New York Times referred to Canada Blooms as one of the top three shows of its kind in North America.~

It's almost here!! :Pinkbounc My favourite garden show, running March 9th - 13th, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

I've attended Canada Blooms for the last few years, and it really is amazing! There are hundreds of things to see, gorgeous and imaginative displays, a huge marketplace, and lots of local garden club competitions. We usually meet up with my brother and his SO and make a day of it, followed by dinner on the Danforth, Toronto's Greek Town. :) Flowers and food, what could be better? ;) :)

Here's the link to the official website, in case anyone is interested in taking a trip to Toronto. :) ~Canada Blooms~

All very beautiful, don't you just love Flower Shows. I love to dream when I see these displays. Boston also has it's Flower Show in March, I can't wait. Just walking in the door and smelling spring gets your blood moving again. Mine has gone into January hibernation. Boston also has a large market place with over 1000 dealers.

I did see my first robins last week (poor things, with over 2 feet of snow on the ground, not a worm in sight, poor things.) Can spring be far? I hope not! As I sit here looking out at the new fallen snow, wishing I was anywhere but here. It's been a long snowy winter here, oh how I wish I was somewhere other then this frozen place. Alas no trip this February. Michael Philip is due soon. Things have gone well for DIL although she is having some pressure problems lately. Five weeks to go, but I think their talking about taking the baby soon because of the problems.

Must wait till April for our next trip, it will be Cherry Blossom Time. We are taking Nathan and Lucy to DC. It's been years since I've been there. Instead of flying we have decided to take Amtrack. My first long train ride.

You always post such great pictures from this show, Kim! I can't wait to see this year's offerings!

Love the water shots......but REALLY love the orchids!

Beautiful pictures of Canada Blooms! What a nice title. This year I'm skipping the Philadelphia Flower show, but I will try to get to Cincy's.

Mamu, it's been years since I've seen the cherry blossoms in DC, you are so lucky!

I bought a decorative pot for one of my amaryllis bulbs yesterday, and I nearly went wild buying packs of flower seeds, but I managed to restrain myself. First lets get rid of the snow. It's 27 degrees here right now, I think the groundhog was right, it's going to feel like winter for a long time.

The flowers are very pretty. The first sculptor is a bit scary but creative.

"Can spring be far?"

I certainly hope not, Mamu! :) It does seem like it'll never arrive, sometimes.

A new grandson should but the spring back in your step though, and warm your heart. :) Let us know when Michael Philip arrives, okay? :)

Your trip to DC sounds great, Mamu, I hope you have a lovely time! :sunny:

You weren't too happy with last year's Philly show, were you Bobbi, or is my memory a little fuzzy on that? Which is entirely possible.....

Patsy, in person, the dragon looked a little less ....sinister! ;) :)

The Philadelphia Flower Show is great, but very very crowded. I can only get there on a weekend, if I could be there on a weekday, maybe I would be inclined to go. The trip to Philadelphia from Ohio is 550 miles by car, maybe I flew last year, but then you add in a rental car.

I met up with about 5 other people last year, and it was very nice getting together with my friends from back east. It's a great experience but I'm hoping to drive to NJ for another event at the end of April, and I'm just not inclined to do that drive any more than I have to.

The Cincy Flower Show is held outdoors and in huge tents. We had rain last year, but it's still enjoyable, and it's not even 50 miles away!
