I think it is long over due. Even though this means I might not get to ride it in September. It has been so jerky the last few trips, that I have only been able to ride it once a day.

They did this at DL a few years ago. SM was closed for over a year. They even completely replaced the track. When it re-opened, you could hardly tell they had done anythiong. The track has the exact same layout as it did. It's just new. They changed some of the effects but mostly it's just darker.

I really hope the WDW one gets new track. I can ride it at all because it's sooooooo bumpy. The DL one is super smoooooth!

I broke the bad news to DH that it would be closed for our June trip, and he was bummed. He speculated that they would be updating it with Stitch throughout the ride.

I disagreed.

I think they'll have fairies pooping pixie dust all over you when you round the curves.

I've never ridden the one in WDW. I read too much about how rough it was. In DL this past May we decided to give it a try. We (me, dd who was 8, ds who was 10) LOVED it! It was so smooth! We rode it over and over. I'd love for them to do the same thing with the one in WDW.

We love the DL verson. Especially when it was tracked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Higher Ground.

Maybe this a stupid ? but why on earth would they close it during their peak summer time?? Why not now when the crowds are much lighter?? Not great planning on their part is it??

I'm glad they are giving it a rehab, but from the article it doesn't sound like they will give it as much of a make-over as the DL one had. The DL version is fantastic where they play music in the headrest, similar to the Aerosmith ride. I was hoping they would do the same to this one. But, I guess we shall see.

The article stated it would be closed for a few months beginning in April opening up later in 2009. How much later? We have a trip planned for the end of July going into the first week of August. I am wondering if it will be completed by then. I agree with a previous poster...they should do these improvements when the crowds are at their lightest and not when the most people are there.
