Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

@Girlstar30 I am in 100% agreement with your wife. Stay with VDH and if you want to up the points then do it. You can go back and forth on what will or wont happen in the future. VDH makes so much sense for you in so many ways that the small change of more difficult bookings with the resale impact seems so minor that it’s not worth considering. You are going to buy SSR points to use at VDH, really. Otherwise you would buy SSR resale and save tons more money. What sense does that make? VDH at 7 months is kind of a hot mess. Why lose home resort priority, or atleast having the option for it even if you don’t take advantage of it, for a couple thousand dollars? I know that sounds silly to say, it is still a lot of money, but look we are all talking about spending tens of thousands of dollars on vacations here. IDK, so many people try and make sense of the money here, im here for the vibes. I bought where I want to stay, I bought to have the most flexibility etc. Am I gonna be miffed if in a couple of years there is some firesale on CCV that was tons less than what I paid. Sure. For about 10 min. Until I realize if I could predict the future I could game the stock market and just buy Disney outright.

👆 I am 150% in the camp of staying with VDH.

On the title insurance issue, if you are interested, probably best to look at this thread to keep that content together if there are any questions- https://www.disboards.com/threads/do-we-need-title-insurance-when-buying-direct.3926978/
I would also add that even though you may be buying from the developer, you may be buying a title that has already been owned, by several people at that point. I for one am not willing to risk a $35,000 investment for $187 insurance. Even if the chance I need to use it is 0.0001%. I don’t have that kind of money :)

@Girlstar30 You save money buying SSR right now. If you buy SSR and VDH and had to sell next year you would lose substantially more money selling SSR than VDH. Buying SSR direct over VDH really makes no sense financially.
It looks like you'd take a hit of 44% to sell SSR, which is greater than the 40% to sell RIV, and you know how people freak over RIV's value.

Unfortunately I don't have a Disney Visa, not sure if it's worth getting a new card and rewriting at this point for 400 dollars 🤔
Well if you aren’t working on another card you would certainly get the $300 statement credit for meeting the spend plus it would be at 0% for 6 months. You would also receive the $300 GC that you could use to pay towards the new dues bill when it comes.

Just got off the phone with my guide and...I asked him to send me the new pricing sheet and he said today rolled out a new program where they don't give those out anymore. Each quote has to be individual due to compliance reasons.
So that is a bummer the sheets are supposedly gone.

That is sad.

DVC is slowly becoming more-and-more like other timeshares (less transparency, more pressure).

I also told my guide that since he's writing up a new contract to waive the title insurance too, because I forgot to mention that the first time. He didn't even know that could be waived so he has to check on it. I assured him that many people have waived it before on direct contracts.
When I asked my guide to waive title insurance he said I was his first request, but he knew exactly the paper needed.

The reason is because this could be my ticket to buying 250 direct points 😭😭 I cant do that with vdh its too expensive. And I always book last minute, like I just booked aulani two weeks ahead of time im not sure i need a home resort priority, I booked a bunch of vdh reservations for every month without home resort priority. Resale ssr wont get me into the direct resorts or id just buy that again. Im not saying im gunna do it but it is mighty tempting lol

You can always add on later. You already have a good number of other points. Would you be willing to sell off one of your resales to add more VDH?
