Hey everyone!

My names phil and i decided to let my fourteen and thirteen year old kids decide where we go for spring break :badpc:. They're deciding between the atlantis in the bahamas and orlando. I really want to go to orlando but they think it might be too "babyish". Could y'all suggest some rides, teen clubs, etc that would interest teenage boys? :bounce: :cool1:

My how quickly kids grow up these days, when I was 15, I was excited to do Disney and stuff, lol.

Anyway, Orlando in general (and specifically the 2 Universal parks) are loaded with rides that should appeal to teenage boys, here's a quick list.

Islands of Adventure
Incredible Hulk Coaster
Dueling Dragons
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls
Bilge Rat Barges (Popeye)
Spider-man
Doctor Doom's FearFall

Universal Studios
Men in Black
Back to the Future
Revenge of the Mummy
Shrek 4D and Terminator 3D (two great 3D movies)

Sea World (awesome coaster, but would probably avoid this aprk with two teenage boys)
Kraken (Fantastic "Floorless" coaster
Journey to Atlantis

Now for the Disney parks-

Magic Kingdom (fun rides, but not all too thrilling)
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain

Epcot
Test Track
Mission Space
Soarin' (opening April/May)

Disney MGM Studios
Rock 'N Roller Coaster
Twilgiht Zone Tower of Terror

Animal Kingdom
Dinosaur

Downtown Disney has DisneyQuest. DisneyQuest is great, its a 5-floor arcade filled with arcade games (most free with admission) and other unique attractions and VR experiences.

Downtown Disney also has Pleasure Island. There are dance clubs here, but its mainly an adult place, and there are no teen-only clubs. Many people frown on taking children and early teens here, but they are allowed (except for 2 clubs that are 21 and over only, and 1 club that is 18 and over only)

In the orlando area there are also 4 waterparks.

My opinion is that there will be more than enough things that will keep your boys entertained. And there is plenty of "family-friendly" attractions in Orlando, but also enough thrills to entertain thrillseekers of all ages.

If time is limited, I would recommend The Universal parks over the Disney parks any day, but especially if you have 2 teenage boys looking for thrills.

I hope this helps.

My son is 16 and he says that Universal Orlando is his favorite place in the whole world. We had decided to do a cruise this year, instead of Orlando. We we went on the cruise a few weeks ago and hubby, son and I are all in agreement that Universal is more fun. In fact, in spite of the fact that we have already used our vacation budget for the year, I went ahead and made reservations for 4 nights this August at RPR. My son has offered to get a job to help with the trip!! So that tells you how much he likes it.
