Spring Break

I know many of you have summer vacations planned out for 2017 , but I'm just now thinking about spring break. We are new to the family tour travel concept (our first ABD is this August), but we love the idea of it. I'm having trouble finding options for Spring Break (ours is painfully early, in March). ABD has Costa Rica, Tauck has Costa Rica and Italy. Fairly limited choices. Are any of you familiar with more spring break options? We would love something like the Winter in Wyoming trip, but in March.

This group seems to be serious about its travel, so I'm curious to know what most folks do for their spring break travels.

We haven't done group travel for spring break, but I've thought about it from time to time so am interested in the responses you get. Our spring break is the last week of March. We go to Hawaii every other spring break with my parents, who have a time share there, but I'm always looking for spring break ideas for the non-Hawaii years. Would love to do the Backstage Magic ABD for spring break, but the dates (at least for 2017) don't line up.

I haven't looked at the schedules for March 2017, but in recent years we have done the Peru ABD and the NatGeo Galapagos trip in March. Last year we booked a package to Iceland for March with Iceland Air.

Spring Break is challenging - our is always around Easter. The offerings seem to vary by year and by company. We did Peru with Thomson Family Adventures one year. I have also seen other Thomson trips and some Disney trips.

I have never been able to find a trip that lined up exactly with Spring Break without having to take extra days off school.

We did the ABD Costa Rica trip for our spring break this year in March, and LOVED it. Our kids were 5 and 11 for the trip, and both are eager to do more trips with ABD. (Our next big trip is not with ABD - we are going to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands this summer, and ABD will not take a 5 year old.) If you're not determined to do ABD, and want to do something like the Galapagos (which we looked at for spring break, but decided to do ABD Costa Rica instead), both Celebrity and Lindblad go in March and both are supposedly kid friendly, although they are not specifically "family tours."

Costa Rica for spring break really was wonderful. And we did not have to take any extra days off school. We're doing WDW with friends for next spring break.

Our Galapagos trip during spring was was Lindblad/Nat Geo. Our of 94 guests there were 14 kids.
