I know California isn't like Oregon in the fact that all school districts have the same Spring Break, but, I was hoping you could share with me the major times when spring break crowds will swarm to Disneyland. I have airline $$$ that have to be used by mid April and I don't want to lose them but, don't want to fight crowds either. I would love to come to Disneyland once again, but will have to venture somewhere else if the crowds will be daunting.

Thanks for the info-
Smile

We live in South Pasadena and our Spring Break this year is April 1-6.

The good news is that the spring break is staggered, not as many people concentrated into one or two weeks. That being said, I'd avoid the week of Easter and immediately after easter, they tend to be pretty busy.
When I went to school in So. Cal (eons ago!), our spring break tended to be mid-march, and not around Easter. Seems like the schools are working more to coordinate it around Easter now.
The pay the kids rate goes through late April, so there will be a number of dates/times you'd be able to go.

We live in Northern California and the spring breaks around here are:

-March 26-30 for school districts
-April 2-6 for colleges

Due to that we booked our trip for March 12-16.

HTH!

Our spring break is actually early-mid March this year. Not even around Easter. Which is why we are planning on going in early May! Seems like they are really spread out, I figured early May most should be over with by then!

Watch the posted hours - when DL increases the hours - they expect an increase in attendance. So when the hours go up in March - April - that's DL planning for spring break attendance

The problem is, its not just CA schools you need to worry about. Many people travel during that time period. Canada has their break in early/ mid March. We met many families during that time last year. WA is the first couple of weeks in April, depending on the district.

I would recomend early March or very late (last week) of April if you are trying to avoid spring break crowds.

Since you need to use your airline $$ by mid-April, I would highly recommend going the first week of March to avoid the bulk of the spring break crowds.:thumbsup2

I know in Phoenix, AZ the spring breaks are in the second and third week of March (the 12-16 and 19-23) I'm planning on going with my boyfriend from the 12-16th and am hoping that it's not as horrible as fall break when I went with my sister in October for our birthdays and her break. I would agree that the first week of March would be a good time to go if you can.
