Spring Break Sparkles...And We Get Stuffed! 3 Ladies Dining Through Disney

Sorry for the delays in updating, everyone.
I happen to have met a new man...who I'm dating...=3

Anyway! Wolfgang Puck Express was a restaurant I really enjoyed during my first trip, as I'm a big pizza fan, so I knew I wanted to eat there on our Downtown day. Although the line was practically out of the door, it didn't take long to get to order, or to get the food.

Despite a wide array of choices, Mags and Mom both Spaghetti and Meatballs with Garlic Toast and a side salad. Maggie chose to get a chocolate cookie for dessert and a pink lemonade to drink. Maggie didn't want the salad, so I decided to eat it. It had a nice flavour and wa svery fresh.
Positive: "Juicy meatballs"
Negative: "Should have asked for no Parmesan cheese, garlic bread very garlicky"

Her dessert was a simple cookie, which was large, soft, and tasty.

Mom got the Spaghetti and Meatballs with salad and Garlic Toast as well, but with a fruit cup for dessert and a Diet Coke to drink. She wanted to save the fruit cup for later, but it ended up coming open in our bag and getting fruit everywhere.
Positive: "Perfectly aldente pasta, enjoyed the sauce, nicely seasoned meatballs"
Negative: No Comment.

The fruit cup looked very tasty, but unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy it!
Total Score: 4.5

My entree was the 4 Cheese Pizza, which has a pesto sauce instead of tomato, fresh tomato on top, and obviously, four cheeses. I am a huge fan of pizza, and this did not disappoint!
Positive: "Great flavour, fresh ingredients"
Negative: "Crust a bit soggy toward center making it floppy"

My dessert was a plain ol' brownie. The other dessert option here is Creme Brulee, but after experiencing Maggie's at Chefs De France, I decided to steer clear of that dessert this trip. They just don't have enough time to make it properly.
Positive: "Chewy, sweet"
Negative: "Nothing special"
Total Score: 4.5

Again, sorry about the delay in posting these! Our next report is on breakfast at the Kona Cafe. We're nearing the end! So sad. I want to go back already.

Hi, and welcome to my second Disney Dining Review! This review has a completely different cast of characters than my first review, and a lot more food! I was diligent in my picture taking this trip…although a couple of snacks and counter services not eaten in my presence managed to slip by unphotographed. My mom, sister, and I drove to Disney to on March 6 and stayed until the 14th when we left. It was an awesome spring break trip with very manageable crowds. I noticed that the later in the week it was the more crowded it was, probably having something to do with the cheerleading groups that were in for a competition. The weather in Orlando was beautiful; sunny and warm but not fry-an-egg-on-the-pavement-hot, and a nice breeze most of the day. The evenings did get a little chilly with that wind; I was glad I brought my sweater!

Now it’s time to meet the characters in this lovely dining review! Well…I hope that it’s lovely! Haha!

My mom is 49 and not sensitive about her age at all! She’s a very hip lady. This was my mom’s first trip to Disney World ever! She let me do all of the planning and preferred it that way. In some pictures you might see that my mom is in a wheel chair. This is because she has Planter’s Faciitis, a very painful food condition caused by constantly working jobs that have required her to be on her feet, as well as some issues she has with her hip from a bad fall. She felt guilty having me push her around but I refused to have her waste money on a scooter! Her palate is very simple. She doesn’t care for “fancy” foods or anything with a very complex flavour. One of her comments about the dining was, that although she loved all of the meals, she would have been fine just eating counter service. Her favourite foods are hamburgers and French fries and she can not LIVE without Diet Coke!

Maggie:

My little sister is 13 years old and, as you might imagine, spent the majority of the trip texting! Everytime I’d look at her, her thumbs would be all over her phone. This was also her first trip to Disney World, as well as her first vacation. Maggie eats like a bird. She eats a few bites of a few things multiple times a day. When she’s hungry, however, and her blood sugar gets too low, she gets very irritable and shaky, so we always tried to find her food immediately when she was hungry. As far as taste, Maggie is very picky and likes plain food. She’s not a fan of vegetables or sauce on anything, and is a huge lover of carbs. While we were at Disney she ate a lot of cheeseburgers but also branched out and tried some new things that she actually liked!

I’m seventeen and this was my third time going to Disney. Of course I took pictures of everything, edible and not. I recently went through a bad break up that I was worried Disney would only remind me of, but I managed to hold it together very well and have a great time. When it comes to food, I’m not picky about what I’ll try, just about the way things are presented. I can’t stand anything being covered in sauce or gravy and always ask for it on the side. I also eat very little red meat and can not stand ground meat, or anything even resembling ground meat, as you’ll see later! I like trying new things and LOVE sweets.

So, there’s our introduction. Below I’m listing all the places I’ll be reviewing, and then I’ll get started on the actual reviews! T = table service, Q = quick service, S = snack

I'm in as well....but I GOTTA know where you got the face painting?? AWESOME!!:woohoo:

love reading your report, sounds like you guys had a great time

Hahaha, I agree with you guys! My sister has the strangest tastes around. Just wait until you see her plate at Crystla Palace...all starches!

We got the face painting done in Downtown Disney. The girl who did it did an awesome job!!

This day has two sit-down-meals planned for it. The first was an impromptu breakfast at the Kona that I called in literally the day before when we once again changed our plans around. I've eaten here for dinner before and really disliked it, but I was much happier with the breakfast selection!

Maggie decided on the Blueberry Pancakes with sausage, Lilikai juice, and I believe a soda, though I can't find a picture to prove that this was her second beverage. There were three pancakes on the plate, a very generous portion, and the sausage was more like Polish or German sausage and not what she expected, which was breakfast sausage.
Positive: "Lots to eat, lots of blueberries in pancakes"
Negative: "Sausage sticky even before syrup was put on pancakes, juice too orange-y"
Total Score: 3

Ma got the Big Kahuna, which came with Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes, French Toast, Home Fries, Bacon, Sausage, Ham, and Eggs, which she got over easy. To drink she also tried the Lilikai juice and a Diet Coke. I took one of her pancakes, which actually are just plain but served with the macadamia nut butter and a pineapple sauce. Ma just ate hers with plain butter and syrup, however I took advantage of the butter and sauce. So good!
Positive: "Fabulous selection of food, very tasty pancakes and french toast, meats were average"
Negative: "Juice too fancy for my tastes, fries undercooked"
Total Score: 4

My drinks were a Raspberry Smoothie and the Lilikai juice. The smoothie was tasty, and the juice was really good too, though I added some ice from my water to it to make it more chilled. This is the same juice they serve at the Ohana breakfast, if you've ever had that.

I got this gorgeous Fruit Plate, served in half a pineapple, with banana bread. This was an amazing breakfast. I dipped a lot of the fruit in to the little tubs of honey they had at the table. So tasty! I think I'm drooling...
Positive: "Fruit very fresh, served in a unique way, delicious with honey, macadamia nut butter fantastic on the banana bread"
Negative: "Smoothie just average, juice would be better ice cold"
Total Score: 4.3

Later in the day Maggie and Ma wanted to watch the parade, but it was far too hot for me to sit out in the sun, so I decided to walk around. After doing the Country Bear Jamboree, I wandered in to AdventureLand, and even though it was almost time for dinner, I couldn't resist...

This is my own twist on the Pineapple Float. I asked for it with the orange-and-vanilla swirl soft serve, and it was delightful. In fact, as I was walking off, several people asked me what I ordered! Great way to cool down.

Dinner at Crystal Palace up next.

I like the way you've rated each and every meal that your Ma 'n sister had along with your own. :goodvibes

Great reviews!! I almost feel like I was at each meal with you! Looking forward to more! :flower3:

WOW! I am shocked. No one in my party liked WCC, but your review made me actually think about trying it again. And that's something I NEVER thought I'd say!

The other dessert option here is Creme Brulee, but after experiencing Maggie's at Chefs De France, I decided to steer clear of that dessert this trip. They just don't have enough time to make it properly.

Oh how I hate that you missed the creme brulee at WPE. I was scepticle when I saw that it was made in a small aluminum pie pan but OMG, it was AMAZING! We ended up going back to WPE again just for the Creme brulee. Don't pass it by next time.
