Day 2 = MGM
It was early entry day at MGM so we got up early, ate at the hotel food court and headed into the park. I don't remember exactly what time we arrived but it was fairly soon after the 8 AM opening. RNR already had a line so we waited in line for a FP.
Got on Star Tours with a 15 minute wait and the Muppets 3D Show with a 10 minute wait for the next show to begin. Then back to RNR to use our FP. I went on it for the first time, at the urging of my family. I am glad I went but I won't be going again. The speed and loops didn't bother me, but the jerkiness did. I felt like my head was being slammed into the headrest continuously.
After this we went into WWTBAM with a 10 minute wait then to the BackLot Tour with a 10 minute wait. I am just telling wait times so you can see that even with the Easater crowds, things were not that bad.
We wanted to eat lunch at Sci Fi dinner but when we tried for PS that morning we could only get them for 2 and 2, 10 minutes apart. We thought, what the heck, lets try walk up. We did and were seated in 5 minutes. Didn't get a car but got a table where we faced each other. We prefered that anyway and still got to experience the drive in. The movies didn't bother us but it was so quiet in there, almost somber. That was a little unDisney. The food was good and plentiful. DD and I shared a Reuben sandwich and our waiter brought it on 2 separate plates with fries and pickles for each of us, and didn't charge any extra.
It was starting to get hot so we headed back to the hotel for a swim and a rest to recharge our batteries. Then back to the park for the evening. It was storming a little but we chose to go see the Drew Carey Sounds Dangerous inside. Hung out there a little then headed to Hollywood and Vine for our PS for dinner. We got there early and had to wait about 15 minutes. We took turns looking in shops.
Dinner at H & V was great. The kids loved that they could see their food before they chose it. I liked the variety of veggies and salads. The salmon was good, and I don't really like salmon. Everybody liked what they took. And then the desserts. I don't even want to think about the number of points I consumed. They were yummy.
We headed from there to Fantasmic with our tickets. Our waitress said that we had to be there 30 minutes ahead but advised us to go sooner. We got there about 50 minutes before the show and had excellent seats. I remember the dinner package seating as being only the last section on the right. This time it was the last 2 sections and we sat almost all the way to the left of the second section so were quite close to the center. The kids had cards so we played cards and talked with the people around us to make the wait go quicker. The show came and it was great. Lots of music and characters and special effects.
After the show we stopped by RNR to check the wait but it was still too long for a second ride (for the kids) so we went to the Great Movie Ride and got on with a 5 minute wait. Then a few shops on the way out before catching a bus back to the hotel.
Tomorrow = three parks, one day.
