Spring Break or Summer?

We were planning to visit this July but due to some last minute changes may end up going March 15-22. My question is do you think it will be busier during this portion of Spring Break or during July? In either case we plan to visit the parks Sunday-Thursday. Thanks.

I don't know about which will be busier (I assume they will both be extremely busy), but I can guarantee you that the weather will be much more pleasant in March than in July.

I recommend summer. Crowds are about the same (a little smaller during summer weekdays, especially Wednesdays), but usually all rides are open. During Spring Break, occasionally some rides are down for spring refurbs. This year however, It's A Small World will be down both times.

Just saying King Arthur Carousel is closed until early April and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is closed from 4/21-4/24 (which might be a little late for Spring Break, but still)

Thanks for the info. I had never really thought about the weather or closed rides. It is still up in the air, we need to decide this weekend.

To clarify, how busy are we talking for Spring Break? (Line Times)

45 Min?

60 Min?

90 Min?

120+ Min?

:headache:  :sad1:

fyi, Spring break is busier than Summer as park ours for DCA is now closing at 10PM instead of 9PM.

I would suggest July, Spring break is busier then July and you can be garunteed in July that you will have nice weather, and very little to no referbs going on at that time. Also the longer park hours are a bonus.

Well a few years back we were there for Spring Break and the lines for major attractions were around 45-60 min. However during the peak of the day, you might see some 60-90 min lines (Space, Indy, Soarin, Splash, Nemo). However summer lines will probably be 30-45 min with peak waits of around 60 min.

I guess nice weather is a matter of opinion. ;)

July gets hot in SoCal (90s). Next week on the other hand will probably be highs of 60s-70s.

Personally I would rather stand in long lines with nicer weather than slightly shorter lines in the fires of hell. :rotfl: But some people can handle the heat better than I can.

We've been in both March during spring break and in July. I've also found spring break to be very busy. It's also on the cool side where weather is concerned. It's less enjoyable coming off the water rides in the cooler March weather than in the summer heat.

We always lean towards going in the summer. We enjoy the warm summer weather more, esp. since we're big fans of the water rides. Also, we like to add to the vacation by swinging over to the beaches and San Diego.

Thanks for all the help and I think we are going to stick with our July plans and risk the "fires of hell" :)
