Spring Break Ideas from Louisville, KY

Hello from good ole Indiana. lol There are lots of things here in the city to do:

Our children's museum is world class
We have a great state museum
Brown County IN is sort of like a mini (okay very mini) Gatlinburg, lots of little shops and eateries
The zoo just underwent some major upgades

OMG .. I just visited Brown County for the first time in November. What a darling town! I'm not sure I'd go there with kids, though. Although I didn't really investigate the kid-friendly activities, I was there with girlfriends :)

I am a Lexingtonian checking in.

Have you considered Mammoth Cave? I am amazed how many of my fellow Kentuckians forget that one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World is in our own backyard.

Depending when spring break is, Keeneland might be running. If you haven't been before, it is nothing like Churchhill. My 10 year old loves going to Keeneland early in the morning and watching the horses work out.

Renting a houseboat on one of the many lakes in Kentucky is also a wonderful time.

Besides the 10 year old, I also have a 2 year old, and we took a family vacation in Red River Gorge. Rented a cabin for the week and it was one of the most relaxing trips we have ever taken.

This are just a few suggestions, and as you can see I was hoping to steering you to spend some money right here in the Commonwealth.
