We're driving from Indiana on Sat. April 2. If we hit bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-75 south of Atlanta, are there any good alternate routes to Orlando?

TIA.

Through Atlanta, we found that most of the backups are on I-285 which is ATL bypass. Your best bet is if you hit Atlanta at Rush Hour, take I-285 south which hooks back into 75 just south of Atlanta Hartsfield Intl Airport,
If you hit after rush hour, stay on 75 and go right through Downtown Atlanta.

Hope this helps

thanks for that tip...that's usually what we do around Atlanta.

I'm really more concerned about I-75 south of Atlanta and into Florida. It seems that a couple of years ago we hit some really nasty traffic (bumper to bumper at 75-80 mph) in southern GA/northern FL. That's what I'm hoping to avoid, but since it's spring break time and 1/2 of Indiana is driving to FL with us....ugh!

TIA.

A few years ago we decided to miss Atlanta altogether and went over to I-95 through Savannah and came down through Fl. that way. However, we're starting in Cincinnati, so it was simple for us to cross over east to get there. Once in Atlanta, I'm not sure of any good alternates to 75.

if you dont hit traffic until florida you can take I-75 to I-10 and then when you get into Jacksonville you can take I-95 then take the exit for I-4 and I-4 will bring you into Orlando. But if you have traffic before the I-16 and I-75 merge you can take I-16 to Savannah and then take I-95 all the way to the Daytona Beach exit to I-4. But taking I-16 would take a little more time.
