Spring Break / Easter week dates?

We want to come to Disney Wilderness Lodge and do Magic Kingdom a couple days next Spring Break. The problem is our week (March 20-27) falls between Palm Sunday and Good Friday / Easter weekend. Is that a much more crowded week? Or do people perhaps stay home for Easter? Should we go in the middle of the week (Tues-Thurs) or avoid that week altogether?

Thanks for the advice.

We went this year during Easter break for our 1st trip and if I had to do it over I wouldn't of. All of the post you read and they all advise you if you can go at a different time do so. Take the warning. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time and we got a lot done, but we had to get up early every morning to acheive this. I am talking about EMH at 7:00 in the morning at MK, we were all out of bed by 5:45. Hope this helps.

The boards are great and they do have a lot of great advice!!

We went during the same time as tweetie. Unless you get to the park at opening, you're in long lines. As long as you don't mind getting up early...

Now we did the same at Universal and their system is not as good as Disney's. Not sure why, but by 10am Shrek 4D had
a 2 hour line.

We're going on 3/12 next year. I sure hope we miss the crowds.
Best of luck

Kim

Easter and Christmas weeks are the most crowded weeks of the year at WDW. Even if your break starts Palm Sunday, I would still expect very large crowds during that week. We went once at that time, and I now try to go during less busy times.

One thing that may help you out is that in the NY metro area, our Spring Break is very late.....We have off from April 22-30th. This is due to Passover being late and the large Jewish population in the area. We only have Holy Thursday and Good Friday off for Easter next year. Since I am Christian, I'll be heading to WDW during that week hoping for low crowds! :D

I would never even think of going to Disney the week before Easter or the week after. Those weeks have the be the busiest of the year. I hate it when it is crowded. You get nothing done and standing in lines all day long is not something I wish to do.

we just got back. we were there from the 13th through the 24th and it was a madhouse!! but we arrived at the parks 30 mins before opening and followed UG's touring plans to the letter and we did not wait more than 5, I kid you not, 5 mins for any ride. It was great! My husband had been moaning about following the touring plans before we left but by the second day he couldn't stop raving about them!!! we were both amazed by how well they worked! I knew this would be a busy time (it was the only time we had available) But with UG's touring plans we got to see everything !!! by the way we had our 9yo DD and were still able to follow the adult one day touring plans. Thanks Unofficial Guide!!

Easter is very early next year. Our school disctrict never has spring break during Holy Week EXCEPT in 2005, if we had Spring Break it would be the week before Holy Week, so they decided to make it a week later next year. You may run in to greater than usual crowds next year if other districts are doing the same thing.

We just went April 2-10 - not our 1st visit to WDW but our 1st visit during SPRING BREAK - NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN. Ugh! It was a nightmare. I agree with an earlier post, if we did not get up and get to the parks before opening it was nothing but lines. Also, coming back to the YC pool after lunch was always crowded too.
