I haven't been to WDW in March since the early 80's...how busy is it now? We're booked for Feb 24 - Mar 8. Is this early yet for Spring Break or is it crazy?

Also - how is the weather?

TIA!

We were at WDW this year at the end of March/beginning of April (our spring break coincided with Easter). It was PACKED! From what I remember reading here at the time, end of Feb/beginning of March was much better. We're planning on going the same week next year, but Easter is 2 weeks later, so we're hoping it won't be quite as crowded. In spite of the crowds, we had a great time. If you manage the early entries right, with the longer hours we found it's not that hard to do everything you want even with big crowds.

I think the last week of Feb is too early for Spring Break crowds....you will miss the Presidents week crowds and also most of Spring Break....so it should be no more than moderate crowds during your visit.

You should be fine. Easter isn't until April 16. Crowds won't start picking up til around the third week of March. As for weather, by the first week of March temps should be in the mid-60's to 70's range.

We went this past march in the middle and it was great! We didn't have hardly any problems. Also, we are going again in March if that is any indication. Most people's spring breaks are in April this year.

:teeth: This thread and poll has made my day! I'm there 28 Feb - 16 March so should avoid most of the crowds. I almost cancelled my trip when I thought I booked Spring Break.

Thank you everyone!! This has also made my day. We have to take our trip before the end of May (DVC points expire then) and opted for the end of Feb/beginning of March because we have snow up here and it's my birthday

It was about 75 degrees out today here - unseasonably warm - and I was thinking "I'll bet it'll be like this in Florida in February/March. Considering we were there in the ridiculous heat last month, 60-70+ will be PERFECT!

Thanks all!

::MickeyMo Some colleges will be starting their spring breaks, but that's about it. Grad nights may be starting beginning of March. ::MinnieMo

I am a college student and our Spring Break is the first week of March and I am going to Disney with a bunch of friends. Our group will represent three colleges which all have the same break, so I am thinking it is a common time for a college spring break. However, I had a lot of trouble convincing my college friends they would like WDW (now I really have to impress them), so I don't think a ton of college-age kids are racing down to Disney over Spring Break. I could be wrong, but among my friends (except me!) it is not a popular destination.

::MickeyMo I'm a college student too. I don't understand why it's so hard for college students to find Disney as "cool." You're never too old for Disney! The only ones at my college who I find that like it have done the internship. Those don't really count though, LoL. ::MinnieMo

I have been to Disney more times than I can remember and I FINALLY convinced my friends to come with me last May and they loved it. I can't even begin to tell you the number of times they made comments like "wow, I really didn't believe you that Disney isn't just for little kids." Although I had a heck of a time convincing them to come on the trip (Disney isn't cheap), they were all really impressed and said they would love to go again. One of my guy friends even cried during Wishes because of how beautiful it was. Now that was more than I had been expecting, but I was happy. We had an awesome time and I would love to help all of my college friends believe me when I tell them how amazing Disney is. Maybe that wouldn't make some people happy though since it could lead to more crowds in Disney during college breaks!

We went at the beginning of March earlier this year, 3/5-3/12. We had very minimal crowds! We didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes on line, and only used FP for Test Track on our last day (A cheerleading competition arrived that day). I know someone that went the last week in FEbruary and she said it was more crowded... but I think her trip coincided w/President's Day so that might have been why.

Oh, and temps were in the upper 60's-low 70s in the am and pm, and perfect during the day- mid 70's to low 80's. It only rained once our whole trip. Granted it was all day and it was chilly that day... but it didn't stop us! IT's really iffy b/c I went in 2001 in March and they had a cold spell the week I was there... only upper 60's all week!
