HI!
I'll be in DIS on Spring Break and wondering if I should make PS for lunch. We generally dont do big lunches- just stuff like Pecos Bills and Umbrella Cafe but I'm thinking the wait at these types of places might be really long!

Any opinions? Thanks ::yes::

Pecos Bill's, Electric Umbrella, and other counter service places don't take p.s. If you want a sit down lunch however I would make a p.s. during Spring Break. We have never been during a peak holiday time like Christmas or Easter so I can't compare crowds then but we did go the last week of March which was our Spring Break week and the parks were crowded compared to the other times of year that we've been to WDW. I actually thought that the real "Spring Break" rush wouldn't start until April but it was pretty crowded the last of March. I haven't been to Electric Umbrella but have been to Pecos Bill's when it was crowded and they seem to do a good job of keeping things moving. The only counter service place we've had long waits are at Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus in AK. Perhaps because there aren't as many dining options in AK as some of the other parks???

Just curious when your spring break is? I was wondering if we were going to hit spring breakers? I would recommend making the priority seating for the restaurant of your choice. You can always cancel if you don't want to go. You wouldn't want to waste all of your time waiting or not be able to get in somewhere. I have done this in the past and ended up eating at the same place many times. Not fun. Now I make two reservations for every day of our stay. Good luck.

I'm wondering about this too. I've made a PS for Teppanyaki for one of the nights to guarantee us a table, but what about other meals (both lunch and dinner)? Since we won't know in advance what restaurants we want to go to, is it really necessary to make PS's for EVERY meal? Will we be able to find a table at a restaurant without waiting 30+ minutes? What about making PS's the same day, has anyone had luck with that?

I think that if you REALLY want a specific place and good time to make a p.s. If you don't want to keep it you can cancel or they have many who don't cancel and unless it is a p.s. with a credit card deposit like CRT's breakfast, there is no penalty. On our first trip I made too many p.s's and felt obligated to keep them even when for some dinners we really would have been happy with something simple instead of keeping our full meal sit down p.s's. Yes, we have often gotten p.s. while there. LIke I said, make the ones that are really important to you and don't worry about the rest. There are a lot of good places to dine in WDW. If you are concerned about wait times maybe go for an early or late lunch, or an early dinner and you should be fine. Enjoy!

I would make PS's for your favorite spots breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can always cancel the one's you don't use. It is a little risky to wait til you arrive at the parks unless you want to eat at off times.

If you dont want to fight the crowds and want only a counter service lunch then consider eating early like 11:30 or else hanging out by attractions close to where you want to eat lunch so you can get there efficiently. We do granola bars with ee for the parks so by 11:30 our 3 teen ds are starving and just when we are done is when the mad rush and table hovering starts. During this time we are back to the rides etc. We are going april 6-13 and I have made about 9 -10 ps. My plan is 1 good meal a day for sure. Counter service for the others and a few places for dh and I which the kids dont like. If you want some place special make a ps now, its a very busy time. alot of places I booked 80 days ago I couldnt get the times I wanted, just changed some over the week end. So good luck.

We always book lunch and dinner PS's, and then when we get there, we change some the night before (sometimes even that day.)

When the parks are crowded, there's nothing better than being able to go inside and sit down to a nice meal, while others are fighting the crowds at the counters!! BTW - if you want a sit-down meal, but aren't very hungry, you can always split your entree.

Have a great trip!!:wave:
