Spring Break 2023

I’m considering a first time trip to DL over spring break. I really can’t negotiate a different time (first week of April, give it take a few days before) so this is the date I would have to use.

Just how bad are the crowds? I see that is when SoCal has its spring break typically. Many crowd calendars say avoid at all costs, but I’m looking for some first hand feedback.

Thanks!

We have done spring break with two kids and would do it again. Yes, it will be crowded so keep that in mind, have a plan and use EE or rope drop if you are able. Take breaks midday when the crowds get real thick and most of all, enjoy being at Disneyland.

Ditto PP. I went the first time for spring break this year with my oldest and we're doing it again next year with the whole family. It was crowded, but not miserable. We made a list of priorities, did rope drop, used genie+, did a midday break when it was hot and crowded and used park hoppers so we could repeat our favorite things daily (his fave is the Incredicoaster). We also didn't do any sit down restaurants (would have been torture for the 7 yo) and used mobile order as often as possible to maximize our time.

This year, with 5 of us, we're staying at the DLH to get the benefit of EE. We're coming from the east coast, so getting up early will not be an issue and we can do the pool during the afternoon.

Well the good news is I think many OC schools have their break either the last week of March or the week of the 11th (that is the case for my boys in San Diego County). Obviously there are other neighboring states that have different spring break times, but that combined with all but the Topo tier MKey being blocked means you likely won’t have crazy local crowds.

Are there any predictions on what the hours might be during this period? I think I am outside of Spring Break (arriving April 16th). I see we can start booking our park reservations in a few days.

Irvine Unified and Capistrano Unified have their breaks the first week of April.

Anaheim has the last week of March.

The lower three Magic Keys are blocked out April 1-9.

Any reason I should be worried about going to Disneyland on April 19th or 20th? I'm going to be in town and wanted to go with a couple of local friends with Magic Keys (it's a reschedule from 2022 that didn't happen, so I already have a ticket).

Sayhello

Any idea what the event is? I've searched and searched for this and cannot find anything. That's a our last night and I'd hate to have it close at 8pm! I sure wish Disneyland would release their hours sooner than they do!
I'm not sure what the event is, I think it may be an internal Disney one, maybe for cast members. I have a friend managing an event over those dates though and Disneyland let her know it would close early that night.

Ok, well thanks for this info. If this is the case, we will change our dates. How certain are you that it will close at 8pm? lol If its confirmed the "event" is happening and they are indeed closing at 8, we will change our trip a day sooner. I don't want to wait for their measly 6 week window they give to make changes like this. Thanks!

I mean, its what was communicated to my friend because of their event. But thats not to say that Disney can't change it at anytime, even after it's published in their 6 week window.
