Spring Break 2018, choose an AK day for me!

So it appears I'll be at WDW with 1/3 of the country the week of March 9-14th. I'm trying to decide when to plan my AK day, at this point I have a Tusker House ADR for 3 different days until I figure out what day will be best.

Saturday, TP says 7/10 and WDWPrepSchool says "moderately busy"---probably not our first pick as it will only be 60+1 for FP+.

Monday, AK will have AM EMH (1 hour)
or Tuesday, AK will have regular hours.

Will it be better to be early and use the EMH on Monday or be early and just use rope drop on Tuesday?

I tend to avoid parks with emh personally. Different people feel differently about that, but that's my strategy. If you have park hoppers and can go for emh and then leave, that can be a strategy, but we don't do that.

Yes, we have park hoppers so we can, well, hop around! Thanks for your perspective.

If you can get up and get motivated to get to AK an hour before EMH starts (so by 7am assuming an 8am EMH opening), I'd definitely suggest going that day. Getting there that early should enable you to ride FOP and NRJ with little wait so you don't have to stress about getting (or not getting) FPs for those rides.

For me, the key issue would be getting FoP Fast Passes, so Tuesday is probably your best bet for that (farthest day out).

Also, EMH days are definitely busier, so if you don't have Park Hoppers, I think it's best to avoid EMH days. To do FoP at Rope Drop, you would have to get to the park very early to avoid a long FoP wait, but then you would still have a long wait (the one waiting to get into the park).

So for us, getting FoP Fast Passes would be our top priority.
