Our DD and older DS will be at WDW the week between Palm Sunday and Easter with the marching band. DH, younger DS and I are planning to go for the week, also. Can't have 2 kids marching at WDW and not be there to see them:D

We are thinking about staying either at PoP Century or CSR. With it being Peak season, will there be any chance of discounts or are we stuck paying full price?

Would either resort be better than the other at that time of year because of crowds/large groups?

How soon should we make reservations to be sure we get a room? (we just got the band trip info. last week).

Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if they had discounts for that time or not last year but if you check on www.mousesavers.com they have a section on historical codes and when they came out -- you could look there to see if there were discounts out that time last year;)

Either resort should be just fine - they'll both be busier during busier times, I'd go with whichever you'd be more interested in.

As far as how soon to make your ressie, I'd make it now if you know your dates. You can always call back and apply a discount code if and when if becomes availble.

HTH's some. Have a great trip!

We were at WDW during 'Peak' Spring Break season in 2003 and had a nicely discounted room at AKL - so discounts have been offered during Peak season in the recent past.

Scootch is right on:

You can reserve your room anytime - and then call back later to change the rate when the discounts come out (assuming you get one). The discount that we had came out just a couple of months prior to our visit.

ANY resort at WDW is going to be busy at that time of year. We haven't stayed at PoP yet, but CSR was quite nice. I personally like DxL better, but the kids prefer CSR - and I have to admit that it had several advantages over DxL.

Have Fun!

My family went the week of Easter and it was busy, busy, busy. I stayed at Pop Century and Swan. I originally got AAA rates, but to my surprise, Disney came out with AP rates. Don't remember what they were, but I was happy. Pop Century was busy, but it's a big place, so didn't feel too crowded.

The parks were very crowded by 1pm everyday. So plan to go early. Tried to use the stategy of going to the park the day after emh. My family are not early risers. We didn't see 1/4 of what Disney has to offer, but since it was their 1st time, they were still impressed. Will have to take my niece again sometime.

I made ps for dinner every night. But didn't use many as my SIL was sick the whole time. (Maybe in her head, does not like Disney, but that's another story).

I agree to make reservations now, and wait for the discounts.

Have fun.
Susan

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I think we'll try to make a decision by next week and make reservations. Then we'll watch and hope for discount codes.
