I'm trying to lock in my dates for spring '05. If I want to avoid the spring break crowds, do you think the week of March 7th would be safe? I remember in 2003, the crowds arrived (like locusts) the week of March 10th.

My daughter's Spring Break starts March 27. I know not every school does it the same time. When is everyone else's break?

We were there this year 3/9-3/16. The crowds really began to get HUGE around the 11th. So we only had 2 "quiet days". By the 12th-- it was jam packed. Try a few days earlier and I think you'll miss it altogether.

However, Easter being in March may affect some spring breaks this year.

In 2003, I was there from 3/5 - 3/12 and on the 10th, the crowds just descended upon WDW. It was amazing how one day, TOT was a walk on and the next day it was 90 minutes.
Ideally, my dates would be 3/3 (thur) - 3/11 (friday)... I'm just a bit concened about 3/7-3/11. I could move everything up a week but, friends of mine are expecting the birth of their first child on 2/19 and taking all the time off could become troublesome.

We have Spring Break the week of April 4. Maybe the crowds will be less by then! We can hope anyway!

In the Fort Wayne area (NE Indiana) the breaks are the last week in March and the 1st week of April.

Spring Breaks run through March and April, but the week before and the week after Easter are usually the most crowded at WDW because many schools move their break around to follow Easter. We always have our break the end of March. We went to WDW this year as it was a couple of weeks before Easter and crowds were moderate. We had a great time. Next year Easter is earlier so our break coinsides with it. We will not be going to WDW, we are planning a summer trip as we do not take the kids out of school. You can't just look at dates since Easter moves around. As long as you avoid the weeks around Easter Sunday you will be okay IMHO!!!! We are considering Arizona next Spring Break.......YeeeHawwww!!

In practically all of North Texas, Spring Break '05 is the 7-11!

We're planning a trip to WDW during that week (check countdown!!).

Personally, the crowds during spring break are NOTHING compared to New Year's and Christmas...

I've never been able to go during the quiet season, though, due to school.

This is true because, as we see in this thread, everyone has spring break at a different time. Everyone has Christmas at the same time.

We've been in March the past 3 or 4 years...late March, mid-March, and early March. The only time I have ever said "I can't take this crowd anymore!" was the one year that Easter fell in March, and we were there just before. In our experience, March has never been a slow time, but manageable - just as long as you avoid Easter.

We always go the first week of March as that is when our college spring break is, and the crowds are low to moderate.

My son starts kindergarten this year and there Spring break isnt until April 18th- 22nd. Seems pretty late compared to the others.

Spring break for my college is March 6th - March 13th. I dont know if all colleges follow the same trend. It is still peak season during that time though.

Most of AL, FL, and GA have Spring Break either the last week of March or the first week of April this school year.
