Dapper Day is March 1st for the Spring 2015 event. Who's going? Any outfits you are starting early? What era are you going as? Where are you staying?

For our first Dapper Day, we went late 1920s, early 1930s. For our second Dapper Day, we went early 1960s. Haven't decided on this coming Dapper Day, but chances are we'll stick with pre-WWII this time around.

We're going but we wont be there until late Saturday. Last year the hubs had to stay home so it was just me and the kids. This year the whole family will be there.

I think I'm going to try and do 1940's for us. Its honestly going to be what I can find for the kids. I don't have time to sew this time round.

We have reservations at GCH but no plans yet about style, though I've considered '60s mod. I think we're there from Friday to Monday.

We're just dressing dapper, with no real theme. 50's fit and flare dress for me, and a waistcoat for my husband. :)

My big goal is to get a sketch. There were three artists at the fall event, and I really loved the art of one and enjoyed another. The third wasn't stylistically as matched to my tastes, but she was the only one with appointments. So this time I want to find my favourite artist early and grab an appointment. :thumbsup2

Yep, going again with DizMe!!! I bought a dress already...another 50's style. I think the flared skirts of the 50's suit me much better than the straight styles of the 60's. DizMe could easily pull off a cute 60's dress though. Only 134 days...but who's counting?!!! I'm wiggly already!

Oh, we're staying at the Grand again and already scoped out some good spots for our next meet!:thumbsup2

The Grand for us too (its the only place we stay when its more than just me... we love it so much). We'll be there 27th-1st. Whole family this time (just like last spring). Wife is just about done with our costumes for our trip in about 55 hours, so after we get back, time for DD outfits to start..

I can't wait to see what Amy comes up with for your outfits for next DD!!! I don't know how she's going to out do the last ones! Please post pics, whoever, so we can look for you.

I'll be staying at the Tropicana Inn with my BF for his fist Disneyland trip EVER!
We're doing the 50s era. So excited. You must all help me convert him to Disneyism. :rolleyes1

I'm just bummed. I've heard 3 of my favorite rides will be closed
Peter Pan
Splash Mountain
Soarin' over California

Just a Heads up...STATE cheer Championships are also this weekend at DCA, so it's gonna be packed with Cheerleaders between elementary and Middle school ages!

Do you have a link to this. I can`t find anything on Google.I was just wondering how often this happens at DL and if it is for the whole week

I googled and found 1 on the 28th inside DCA and another on Feb. 14th.

I am curious how frequent that stuff is. I think cheer is fun to watch but not sure about all the screaming teens. lol

I am more worried about all the closures than the events going on. Trying to figure out how many closures is my breaking point. We have yet to buy airline tickets. When does Disney officially announce closures for that time? I have seen many rumors but not many official ones.

For dress we are going to do a mix. Boys will be mostly 30's and girls will be 50's- 60's. I would like to match up decades but I think it will be more difficult with size of family and my lack of ideas. lol I hope to spend most of our day at DCA on the 1st. Do the people in the events usually spill out over into that park or do they mostly stick with DL?

We'll be there the 24-1...looks like we'll avoid DCA the 28th and just pack in Disneyland stuff before we head home on the 1st. Good to know, thanks for posting that! :)

I found this link saying that Cheerleading Nationals are held at WDW every year., this year Feb 7-8. Does anyone have any other links to what`s going on in DCA

Edit: Found another link for West Coast Championship at the Anaheim Convention Center Feb 14 and 15

I'm not sure about the cheer leaders, but there is supposed to be a city race in DCA on Sun Mar 1st. Saw it posted on another thred and it had a link from Disney. Think its going to be a busy weekend overall...but when is it not at Disney:rotfl2:

It's once a year for those ages and always this weekend. We were there in 2014 to cheer them on. Can't make it this year though. I can't remember the name of the Cheer Competition only that it'll be there.

This is State Championships for the younger kids, Hugh schoolers are there later in March and they do shut down Aladdin for at least Saturday and Sunday.

Don't forget World of Color. Between all this and the cheerleaders coming in, I'm starting to get that "it's not going to be a perfect trip" worry that I'm so prone to getting. At least we're staying at DLH. That should make up for something. I hope.

I don't think there is such a thing as a "perfect trip" anywhere and if you go anywhere expecting a perfect trip, then you're bound to be disappointed. Go expecting some bumps and hiccups, but remember that you're on vacation and supposed to be having fun! :goodvibes

I know that it won't matter for you (not meaning it in a bad way - I just remember that you said your little one was very scared of the dragon and you probably wouldn't watch F! again until she's older), but for others that are going, while WoC is likely to be down, the trade-off is that Fantasmic! is slated to run nightly.

And while some attractions will be down (we still don't know for sure which ones), there will plenty of attractions (big and small) that will be running. I know it can be very disappointing when your favorite ride is closed (I've had that happen both at DLR and WDW, so I really do know what that feeling is like), but don't let that ruin your trip! I know some folks don't seem to like to hear this, but I think the key is to focus on the positives!
