Spring 2011 Professional Internships

do all departments have second interviews? i just had my first interview for the costuming buyer internship. but my interviewer just said i'd find out if i got it by december first. does that mean i didn't get it if i wasn't told i'd be passed on?

Hey so I just had my first phone interview, but after doing more internship searches I found another Professional Internship I want to apply to and the date posted isn't that long ago. Would it be weird to apply again even though I already had the initial interview? Anyone have any advice please?

No, not all departments have a second interview. Some decisions are made based off of the initial interview alone from what I understand. I think in most cases, the management internships include a second interview (this was my case when I applied), other departments I'm not familiar with, it is up to their discretion and hiring decisions. I think the December 1st is thrown in there to give casting ample time to get decisions made, although it stresses us out....just thinking about past experience it makes sense. I was also told during my initial interview, that decisions for the internship I applied for in the Spring (Logistics) could also take till December 1st for an answer.

Ugh. All this waiting is really annoying! I'm trying my hardest to be patient because good things come to those who wait. However, my graduation date and a lot of other significant factors are riding on this opportunity. I'm just praying that God will grant me peace and patience until he reveals his will to me.

Did anyone else apply for the Entertainment Management Internship? And have you heard anything back since the initial phone screen?

Question: So if you're in Florida do you automatically get an in person interview? I'm confused because I'm in Florida, going to school 2 hours from Orlando, but I'm a perm. resident in the surrounding Orlando area and my status as a Seasonal CM is still active. So I'm wondering if I would get contacted for an in person interview. I'm not sure if they realize that I'm not in Orlando, but I could be if they wanted me for an in person interview.

If anyone here is on Facebook, I encourage you to check out the "Disney Professional Interns Spring 2011" group. There's some awesome people, good information and great discussions going on there. Some people have already started accepting internships! A friend of mine just accepted the YES Facilitator Internship and someone else posted that they accepted the Creative Assistant Internship for Disney Design Group. Also, people have been mentioning that Lodging Management MIs are currently going through second/third round interviews. Most of them live though because they are currently CPs.

Just thought I'd share the update on here! We're all anxiously awaiting more news. Good luck to everyone and please share if you hear back!

I'm still waiting on the Entertainment MI after my intial phone screening, but no news is still good news, so yay!

My roommate already had a second interview for the Lodging MI, and she was just told a few days ago she made it to the next round and to be expecting another interview within the next two weeks.

So I just got an e-mail today for a second interview for Labor Operations Intern!!! Last semester didn't hear back from any of the one's I applied for so crossing my fingers that this is the time! Did also get a CP offer for Concierge as a backup! Good luck to all still waiting!

Thanks for the positivity! or should I say, positoovity? (Little Mermaid on Broadway anyone? Oh dear perhaps I'm showing my nerdiness)

Anyways, really Nov. 1st? Is that just for regular PIs or does that include Management roles as well? I thought the date everyone was told was December 1st. If your recruiter is a campus rep maybe she made a mistake and meant to say December 1st. If not, would you mind providing us with more details please?

It ain't over 'til the start date in January! I've heard stories of people being called a day or two ahead of the start date and being made offers, so don't completely give up hope until then. And, FWIW, my location for my MI changed the day before I reported, so that's not all set in stone, either.

This is what I told myself as I waited for both my CP and the MI: "You'll know when you know and not a minute before". Believe me, I know it's hard not to fret and worry and wish the days away until a deadline, but remember to Carpe each Diem and don't obsess (um. Do as I say and not as I did??? )

Hey all! Had my phone interview on 9/20 and am going for my in person interview tomorrow at 2pm for the DVC Marketing Internship.

I am not a current PI or CP so I don't think that has anything to do with weather or not you get an in person interview

Last semester our recruiters continually told us that no news is good news, yet hundreds of reps got the dreaded mass e-mail on May 1 and were left without a job after graduation. Don't trust everything they say.

Lodging management will know by next week.

Nov. 1 for all others would be great, but I'd be surprised/impressed.
