Spreading some extra magic - Bulk light sticks for the Electrical Parade & Fantasmic?

Hello Park Warriors.

In past trips, we've always purchased some light stick bracelets and necklaces for our kids from the dollar store to use during Fantasmic and the electric parade. We've always brought some extra light sticks and given them away to little kids around us, especially at Fantasmic while waiting for the show to start. We'd bring 30-40 extra bracelets.

This year I wanted to spread a little more magic and bring a BUNCH of them, as we will be there for 10 days. Does anyone have a good resource for bulk glow bracelets and necklaces? I'm probably looking to buy 300-500 bracelets and necklaces. The dollar store price is okay, $1/10 bracelets, but I was hoping there would be a cheaper source to buy in bulk.

There's nothing like the joy of giving people some extra pixie dust.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately they are about 350% higher than the dollar store cost. That may be my best bet, but I'm still looking for the best deal!

I used to think this was an awesome gesture and have even done it myself in the past but be careful. DH and I were on the Dream a few months back. One of our table mates bought glow necklaces from target or the dollar store or where have you. We were 8 adults at our table and we opted to do pirates night together. When we were putting them on, one exploded. Keep in mind we were a group of adults so no kid was doing anything dangerous with the stick. It got all over one persons shirt (ruining it), all over my SLR (but luckily wiped off with minimal damage) and most distressing was in one person's EYE. It took a few hours for the swelling to go down! The purchaser and the guy who broke the stick both felt so guilty. It was just a fluke thing, but if it happened to a random child and I was responsible I would feel so bad.

Thanks for the warning. By law, glow sticks are non-toxic, but can irritate eyes and other mucous membranes. Yes, they can stain, but so can an ice cream cone. These are designed and marketed for use by children, so product liability would be high if they were not safe.

I'm not going to worry about it. I've heard stories of overzealous CM's stopping people from sharing cyalume bracelets and necklaces because they sell glowing and flashing products, but I think those are likely hyperbole. As far as I'm I'm aware, there's no official policy against it and I've given away hundreds over the tears without incident.

This is nice of you to do but be careful. My husband had one explode and it got into his eyes and all over his shirt. he had to go the the aid station to flush out his eyes and he missed the parade and had to leave early due to irritation.

I think this is a great idea... Our trip is in October 2015, and while we have no kids... I wanted to do something like this as well... I was thinking about getting some stuff from the dollar tree and making up some gift baskets and then leaving them on the neighboring doors where I know there are kids at the Pop Resort... just sign them from Tink and friends lol

I just picked up 50 glow sticks (variety of sizes) at True Value Hardware Store for $4.00. Last year at Michael's I bought 50 glow bracelets in a tube for $1.99 at this time of year for my son's birthday party. I found them in the store near the coloring books, and bins of small toys.
