I don't know when or where but I once heard of a spray, kind of like a hair spray I think that you spray on yourself to get rid of cigarette odors. Does anyone know what I'm talking about here and where to get it???

febreeze

No, it wasn't Febreeze. But does that work??? Would that be harmful to get on your skin?

Somehow, I doubt my DH would appreciate that. I appreciate the humor guys but I'm serious here! There really is a product like this and I just can't think of the name or where I saw it. HELP!!

I know what you're talking about. I had a bottle a lond time ago and all I can remember was it was a clear bottle with greenish blue liquid that I got at the drugstore. I think it was around the body sprays and such. It was a common brand, but I can't remember for the life of me which one it was. Good luck finding it!

We got some travel size Febreeze from Target and used it to spray on our clothes overnight. Seemed to work good.

Hope this helps.

I think this product will only fool the user into thinking they don't smell like cigarettes.
For us non smokers, you simply can't cover up the awful smell of someone who's just finished a cigarette. It goes much deeper than just clothing--it goes skin deep.
A waste of money for sure--now the smoker will smell like a "flowery ashtray"??

No, actually it isn't a perfume spray, it's an odor neutralizer. The scent was very, very light.

BTW, do you actually have info to help the OP or did you just want to say that smokers smell like "flowery ashtrays"?

Thanks Lulu, my DSis is headed to Walmart today so she's checking there for me. I'm kicking myself for not buying it months ago when I saw it. At least then I'd know what it's called!

Actually, I'd say it's quite helpful to say that such products don't work very well.

My ex-wife smokes and she's tried a vast array of products to get rid of the smell -- all to no avail. I recognize it in an instant.

There's a product in the automotive aisle of the grocery store and I cannot recall the name. It's an odor neutralizer and used by limo drivers (as opposed to using hanging air fresheners).
It's a small white and blue or white and green aerosol can but it's not used to spray on people.
My mother-in-law is highly allergic to perfume scents (downey, detergents, soaps, perfume, etc). It makes it very difficult to be able to do anything with her because smells are everywhere. We went into a limo and commented at how there was absolutely no smell whatsoever in the car when we got in. The driver showed us what he used. I wish I could remember the name of it.

I consider what you said to be helpful and also nice at the same time, but "flowery ashtray" was just a bit much and a bit rude, IMO.

BTW, the quote in your signature is very true. :D

It might be ozium. I think it leaves an odor at first, but seems to dissapate quickly.

I believe febreeze does neutalize second hand smoke odors, but maybe not on the smoker directly.

Chris sprays himself down with Lysol spray before he comes near me after he's smoked.

I'm allergic to smoke and I've never had a problem with it after he sprays himself.

I'm fairly certain that it's not dangerous , but I don't know. He's been doing it for years. It can't be any worse than actually smoking.
