I've seen the latest commercials on TV for spray on sunscreen and wondered if it was really that simple. Spray it on and you don't have to rub it in like the cream stuff we are using right now. Is it really worth the extra $$$?:confused3

Yes it is that easy. We use it all the time. You don't have to rub it in. The kids love it and so do we. We use Aveeno and they just came out with the continuous spray this year. My kids used to hate the dreaded sunscreen rubdown and so did we. Now they fight over who gets to get sprayed first!princess:

There are two kinds, no-rub spray and spray lotion. Make sure you get the no-rub, the spray lotion doesn't seem to cover as well and my kids still complain. Don't do it inside though, it made our kitchen floor quite slick! Also, have the kids hold their breath, it also tastes terrible if you breath in the fumes.

The stuff works great but if you put it on a little heavy it takes some scrubing in the shower to get it off.

Love the stuff, but it doesn't seem to last long at all for us. We went through it really fast last summer.

We love the no-rub spray. We usually put on regular lotion before leaving, then use the spray at the parks. It is super easy and takes no time at all for spray.

I love the spray sunblock, but it is expensive and DH & I seem to go through it quickly. Now we use the regular stuff in the beginning of the day and bring the spray if we need to reapply sunblock later in the day.

Beware if you have sensitive skin. DD's skin is very sensitive and she says the spray sunblock stings (it has alcohol in it). Also, be careful if you use it on windy days. I missed a spot once when I was spraying it on myself on a windy day and got a nice burn.

This is exactly what we did. Slop on the regular stuff in the morning, but then we just re-applied with the spray in the parks. Soooo much easier (but yes, on the expensive side)

Right now Walmart has a 3 pack for $10. You get 2 spray sunblocks and 1 spray Aloe! It's a great deal considering 1 can of the spray is right around $7. We also slop on the lotion and use these in the parks. They're great!

Yes, it is really that simple. You can just spray it on and you are done. Actually I just got some of the Coppertone Continuous Spray from BzzAgent and we are hooked!! When we go to the pool or to the park for the day, I find it really quick to be able to just give the kids a quick spray and they are ready to go in about 20 seconds.

Now granted, I do not use the spray on their faces because I don't want them to inhale the sunscreen. For their faces, I got one of those sunscreen sticks (also happens to be Coppertone) that I can just rub on their faces.

I will say 1 thing though. We tried the Banana Boat spray and I am not sure if it says that you don't need to rub it in or not, but it left a thick greasy coating on the skin. Definately didn't like that one as much.

But yes, BIG fans of the sprays! Great for fast moving kids who don't want to wait! :thumbsup2

Though it's expensive, the Neutrogena type is the best for not being sticky or having an unusual smell. It's also got helioplex which is supposed to hold up better in the sun and heat. I haven't tried Aveeno, which I'm sure is very good, but the cheaper brands like Coppertone and Banana Boat and generics do not have the same consistency when on your body as Neutrogena does.

We love, love, love it. I agree that the biggest drawback is that you go through it quickly. It's worth it in my opinion though. The Neutrogena is the only kind I can recommend though. It doesn't even feel like you have anything on and it works perfectly. We have various cans of Coppertones versions as well and it's just not the same. It doesn't go on as weightless and it burns eyes when you jump in the pool or sweat. With the Neutrogena, I can just close my eyes and spray on my face no problem. With the Coppertone, I tried that and it burned my eyes like crazy for several minutes. The Copppertone stuff also burns your eyes when you jump into the pool and it runs down your face.

We have a pool and neighbor kids purposefully do not put sunscreen on until they get to our house because they like "our stuff" better. My kids HATE applying sunscreen but will tolerate the spray on kind, and it is worth it to me to keep them protected. Here's a hint - you CAN use it on faces and here is how. Have the child stand in front of you and when they take a deep breath they put their finger up to signal you to spray. Then as soon as you are done you give them a push backwards so they can step back out of the spray and breathe. This is one of the best inventions ever, in my opinion.

The Aussie one is very good, light, not too tacky when dry, goes on evenly. We tried a couple of others but they are apparently the spray-on/ rub-in kind - defeats the purpose!

Also, they all tell you not to spray in the face. You're supposed to spray it on your hands and rub in to the face (makes sense)

LOVED it for our trip in July 06. Used the coppertone sport and the no ad brand of the spray on, no rub (not the spray lotion). both worked great. it did not sweat off and it was a sinch to reapply. i would recommend it to anyone.

I have used coppertone sport for a few years now. First they had a no rub pump srpay which was great. Then I saw the continous spray. I like them both, however the pump spray seemed to last longer.

Thanks for all the feedback!:thumbsup2 We will definitely be purchasing some of the no rub spray to use on our trip in August.

Spray is SOOOO much easier than lotion. And yes for the face spray some in your hands and then apply the face.

It is defin. much easier to apply, especially on little ones -- but it runs out so quickly. They seem to cost about $7 each, so if you dont mind spending that much $$ on it, go for it, but keep in mind you will get less than half the amount of applications. That said, I still buy it! :thumbsup2
