Ok, we all got em...things our spouses/SO/partners do that drives us BATTY!!! I love my DH dearly, but sometimes...

- We have a Brita water pitcher that we bought to try and cut down on bottled water costs...Seems I am the ONLY one who knows how to put water in it...Went to get a cold icy glass this morning before work...and it was empty...IN THE FRIDGE!!!

- He works closing shift, I go in at 4a, so I am in bed when he gets home from work...he comes in the bedroom, wakes me up, and ASKS ME IF I AM UP!! Well yeah..I am now...and its usually a STUPID question that could have waited or been handled via an email or something..

So, spout off, let it all fly...what drives you batty?

Are you married to my Daddy :rotfl::rotfl:? My Mother and I have never understood it !!!

Hubby doesn't do alot to drive me nuts, but I leave the tooth paste cap off sometimes :rotfl:and it drives him WILD. Now I just do it for fun sometimes to see him turn red if it is a dull day ; ).

Okay...my DH would be offended if I began posting a list as he would be embarrassed even though you guys don't know him.

But the one thing that bugs me the most and I consider it fair game....

"knee bobbing"--where he's kind of tapping his foot and his whole leg is gently bobbing. For some reason it annoys me mostly because it vibrates whatever I might be on....the couch, the bed, the church pew. It drives me bonkers because though it may calm him or whatever, it's not calming me. When I was stuck in bed with bad morning sickness/hyperemisis, this bobbing thing would make it worse.

Of course he isn't doing it on purpose. Half the time he doesn't realize it.

That reminds me, mine does pick his finger nails , drives me insane, I know he doesn't realize he is doing it till my head spins around. He always keeps it up for a minute or two more, just to see my head spin a little longer.

I love my husband dearly and he is a great guy. I am SURE I do more to annoy him than he does to annoy me.:rolleyes1

Two things:

If he is in the middle of repairing or fixing something he will not stop until he is finished. This would be okay if he did not tend to start things 10 minutes before dinner, or because he has to wait 5 minutes for us to be ready to go somewhere (and then we all end up waiting 30 minutes on him to finish).

He is an absolute neat freak. Normally a pretty good trait in a guy, I know. BUT if the kids or I leave something out where it is visible so that we will not forget to take it in the morning he puts it "away" and then we do not see it. We do not leave stuff lying all over the house--just on top of the radiator by the door in ONE spot but he can't stand it and moves it:headache: He travels about 80% of the time and we have a routine and then he is here and we manage to get places without what we need more often than not:rolleyes:

OH, where do I start LOL

1--the way he eats totally disgusts me. I need to leave the room LOL And if it's chips or cereal, I'd prefer to leave the state!!! It's THAT bad.

2--I am NOT perfect in any sense of the word BUT there are some words that he mispronounces that just drives me up the wall. I don't know why....but boy oh boy.... instead of saying until he says ontil....and for a local town here (Danielson) instead of saying dan-yull-son, he says danel-son. I know these are stupid things but for some reason it makes me cringe.

3--I would bet my life that he has some sinus problem or deviated septum or SOMETHING!!! You can hear him breathe from a different room. I'm not kidding!!! I've even had people over on numerous occassions and they'll be looking around with a strange look on their face asking me, "what's that noise?" And when they realize it's his breathing....they always say, you NEED to go have that checked out by a doctor. LOL I've been telling him that for years now but he HATES doctors and refuses to go :confused3

I'm sure there are more and I'm sure there are "a couple" things that drives him crazy about me, but that's another thread all together!!! LOL

It really bugs me when spouse/DGF posts Spousal Pet Peeves to a forum or even worse facebook ! :lmao: :rotfl::woohoo: LoL

Not shutting his lips when he eats. I try not to harp but sometimes the noise just gets to be too much and I'll tell him to shut his lips. He doesn't even realize he does it. I'd sometime like to secretly video tape him while he's eating, so he can actually see, and hear, what it looks/sounds like. :rotfl:

And even worse than that, he picks his feet. He has very dry, scaly feet and he'll take his shoes and socks off in the evening while we're watching TV and he'll sit there and pick his feet. :headache: So gross.

I know I have faults too, nobody's perfect. But those two things he does just really seriously annoy me.

First of all I love my DH more than anything, he just drives me nuts.

1. The man has not taken a shower alone in the past 20 years. He gets in there and all suds up and then remembers something that he needs to tell me that for some reason can't wait until he gets out of the shower.:sad2: I will never understant that.

2. When he watches TV it has got to be on the loudest setting possible. I kid you not, I was outside cutting hedges one day and I could hear John Wayne. Which leads me to my next point.

3. He watches old timey westerns on TV all the time. We have cable and I have no idea why it stays on this channel.

This list could go on and on but in all fairness, he says I slurp my coffee and I don't even realize I'm doing it. Drives him crazy.

laughing:

omg, we are doing the same thing! we got the brita pitcher for the same reason about 6 months ago and I swear I am the only one who fills it, and yes, dh does put it back EMPTY in the fridge. its not that hard to fill...and the sink is only a few steps away!!!!!!!

Okay, I love him to pieces and I know he can't help it because he's sleeping, but... DF smacks his lips while he's sleeping! Over and over and over again. It's like he's eating peanut butter while he sleeps and can't get it out of his mouth. :lmao: I have no clue why he does it (and he never remembers doing it) but it's SO annoying and if I wake up and he's doing it, I have a really hard time getting back to sleep, because it's like nails on a chalkboard. Ughhh.

I consider myself pretty lucky because there's really only one thing DH does that drives me crazy and we've found a way to work around it. I don't drink coffee. DH drinks a LOT of coffee. My only issue with that is that it seems to be impossible for him to pour it without spilling it everywhere on the kitchen counter.

After months of complaining and scrubbing coffee stains off the counter, I finally smartened up and bought a plastic placemat to go under the coffee pot. I still roll my eyes when I see the mess but every few months, I toss the old placemat and replace it with a new one.

:lmao: We haven't found a work around for his issue with me. When I'm cooking, I often leave the fridge open as I'm getting things in and out. We're talking leaving the door open for maybe 30 seconds while I measure milk and then put it back, etc. but it drives him insane. I've banned him from looking into the kitchen when I'm cooking.

Not a spouse.. but my grandma gets annoyed at me when they visit. I have a thing where I only drink from water bottles [idk?]. I take a sip, then put the cap back on. 2 seconds later, take the cap off, take a sip, cap back on.
She does not understand why I can't leave the cap off :rotfl:

If he makes me mad instead of saying "I'm sorry" he says "I'm sorry you are mad at me". That drives me crazy.

My dh will not empty the trash can!!! We have an unspoken game we play, "who will break down first and empty the trash?" It is ALWAYS me.

I can't stand it when he balances trash on top of the practically overflowing trash bucket. It usually ends with me emptying it in a huff while he says, "oh, I was going to do that." :cool2:

Mine does this too...with the included...the trash really needs to go out soon!

Solution for the coffee mess - pour it over the sink. And for the trash, my kids take out the trash, of course I have to tell them to EVERY single time but at least they do it.

Pet Peeves:

1. DH taking a leak with the bathroom door open. (Like I really want to see and hear you)
2. Taking clothes off and putting on floor or chair to put in basket in the morning. (Just do it THEN, don't wait!!)
3. Clipping fingernails and sometimes not being over a trash can, just out in the open. (SOMEBODY has to vacuum!!!)
4. Picking teeth with a pocket knife. Okay, the do make toothpicks, you know.

I know there are many more but these are just some of the main ones.

My dh is a great guy...Really he is. Love him to death and I know I have a few annoying habits. Maybe a few more than a few butttt since this is about him and not me!

1. He has broken his nose at least three times playing basketball, he snores so loud that you can be downstairs and hear him. I have to either sleep on the couch or get in bed and fall asleep first. Otherwise, I will lay there listening and listening and listening. I have begged, pleaded and conjoled him to go to a dr because now I think he might have sleep apnea or something like it. Lately he has been doing this thing where when he breathes his lips make this weird sound like in the cartoons...it is literally driving me to drink.

2. See above...hates going to to dr. What is wrong with going and getting something checked out. You would think to make me be quiet he would do it.

3. He does things like yesterday he swept and mopped the kitchen floor. Probably the first time in a year. I was supposed to have a party and didn't get the memo. How come he can't do the floor without expecting me to jump up and down, we all live here you know.

I adore my husband and I am very blessed to have such a wonderful man..... but.....

*apparently he has a drawer closing disability - in spite of informational demonstrations on how drawers work (open...closed!), he just doesn't get it.

*he puts empty things back in fridge.

*rather than empty the trash, he has created an art form for balancing stuff on top! (this seems common) LOL

*the house can be a wreck and he asks it I need help....really? Then, unless I give him a specific job, he goes to the shop/garage to organize his tools. That or he chooses to do something like clean the stove. WTH? Clean something no one can see? Really?

*He leaves the refrigerator door open while he makes a sandwich. I cannont stand for the door to be left open!
