Spotlight on the DDP w/ FOOD PICS!!!

Hi Dis people! We are back from our WDW vacation & I welcome you to my dining review! We stayed @ the Caribbean Beach Resort for 7 nights & Pop for 2 nights. [not enough time, it went way to fast!]

[I will only review my DH & my food. My sis is doing her own review b/c they ate @ some different places.]

Our reservations had some last min. changes. There was just a lot of food for us, being on DDP. So we decided to try our 1st signature dining & eliminate 2 of our reservations & swap them for one meal @ Citrico's. We also cancelled about 3.

Our revised line up is as follows:

I will be adding many treats & Counter Service meals as well. So enjoy! We sure did!!!

We arrived to the Caribbean Beach Resort, checked in pretty fast, walked over to Old Port Royale to check everything out, then hit the bus to Chef Mickey's! We were a little late meeting my parents, sis & niece but when we got there everything just started off so perfect. The main thing this meal, was that my DS[1] loved the characters! He smiled & laughed & gave Donald kisses!!!! I was way too excited & happy to even think much about my stomach!! It felt so good to see my little fellow enjoy himself soo much!! My entire family was just as pleased & we all enjoyed watching him & waving our napkins!! I don't have any pictures of the food @ CM since there are 101 pix on here to find. I will say [since this is a review] the food was good as always! I enjoyed the cheese cubes, salad, fish & the mashed potatoes. My DH had a Heineken & liked the carving station. Everyone loved the dessert!! I think my dad mentioned the bread pudding was outstanding. [it must have been good b/c he will say if it's not]

On to our very 1st visit to Le Cellier:
This was kind of a big deal for me as it was the very 1st time trying a steak since I was, a small kid. I grew up hating steak & most meats. Everyone was shocked when I decided to order the same as my DH. The NY Strip Steak. It was very good! I ate the entire middle of the steak. [to avoid fat, but I don't think there was a spot of fat b/c that would have grossed me out] It was just really good. My DH said it was delicious & he favorite meal in WDW.
My DS had the kid's grilled chicken & a lot of my mango smoothie the Niagara refresher. He loved it!

Smores...eeehhh they were pretty but not so tasty The mousse was AMAZING & I was jealous!
My parents got the maple creme brulee & raved about it!!

Kona Cafe:
I had been so torn between the Samoan, Tonga Toast & the Mnut pancakes. 3 of us got the Samoan

My DH & I enjoyed this & my DSister did not. I know.


My DS got this & some fruit:

Kona was by far the BEST coffee in WDW.
I saw this @ Kona & think it deserves a mention: fruit plate w/ Banana bread.

My mom got the blueberry pancakes that looked super delish!!! Next time I'll go for the sweet stuff!

The Liberty Tree Tavern has long been my favorite place to eat in WDW!
The food was fantastic w/ the exception of the lack of dressing on the salad [my fav part of the meal] Here is a pic:

I do have a complaint about a hostess,1st she was very rude to my sister & gave her a major attitude about all of our party not being there yet. She told her they are on her case to get people seated!! Then not knowing we were together gave me major attitude. My parents were late due to a stopped monorail. I gave her the same attitude back. Then,she toned down. When I went back up, to tell them they had arrived, I saw her trying to delete our name off the list. So I said please don't delete that, they are here. [as if she did not see me standing right there.] I think she needs a new job. I wanted to tell her in all my years I never met a worse cast member. But I didn't. I'll still go back to LTT. I love the food too much to let a few things change my mind.

Next was the Very Merry Christmas Party!!! The party was just adorable we danced w/ characters & watched a special parade as snow fell on the Florida ground! So what do I think of the cookies and hot chocolate? I think they look super cheap by giving such small cups. Not impressed w/ that part @ all. [we bought our resort mugs so if we really wanted hot chocolate, we could have gotten more] It's just, those tickets were expensive, it was like, really Disney? That's all you wanna give us? You usually do so much better than this. Everything else aside from the treats was awesome!!! We loved it!!! A nice spread of cookies that make your eyes light up like Christmas morning would have been better WDW!! Take a note. [& we know you have cookies.]



Oh! They gave us some of these on the way out of the MK!!! Delish!!!

On to Hollywood Studios for...Hollywood & Vine breakfast!
I was most nervous about this breakfast being yucky due to reviews on the Dis. Either WDW got the memo or I hit it on a good morning! It was an excellent breakfast. My DS could have cared less about these Disney jr characters [the reason why we went here!] Everyone thought the buffet was super clean & had a great variety of food. My favorite item was the make a breakfast burrito. I had 2! They were awesome!! My son enjoyed his 1st:

This next place was a meal I have been looking forward to for I think 4 years as I could never get a reservation until this trip!! O'hana! There have been so many reviews on this restaurant so here is our take on O'hana. We had a couple drinks before hand in the lounge the Back Scratcher for my DH & a Pina Colava for me.They were both good choices w/ a view of the pond outside we enjoyed the relaxing moment.
We were seated in a kinda dark spot by the window. [ I was not crazy about that] Our server was THE BEAT server EVER!!! I wish I knew his name b/c he was on it & super friendly!! He offered to bring our DS mac & cheese or something more "baby friendly" LOL!! Our boy eats what we eat so we said no thank you.
We had the salad course: DH liked, me, not so much
The welcome bread was very good!
The wings were good & so were the pot stickers. My Ds loved the noodles!
So far so good.The meats started coming out & they were fantastic!!!
My favorite was the shrimp & then the chicken w/ the peanut sauce in a close 2nd. It was just my #1 favorite meal in WDW!!!

Citrico's!!
I got this:

Pan-Seared Red Snapper - Fregula "Paella", Bay Scallops, Rock Shrimp, Palacio Chorizo, and Sherry-infused Sofritto
This was the best piece of fish I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly & was not fishy @ all. I really enjoyed this meal.

Braised Veal Shank - Carrot-Potato Mash, Roasted Vegetables, and Toasted Citrus Gremoloda
My DH enjoyed this Veal but had said he felt bad about ordering it.So.....hmmm. I think he liked his LC steak better.
I really wanted to taste his carrot-pot mash & it was so yummy!! I could have eating just those!!!

Warm Chocolate Banana Tart - with vanilla ice cream and handcrafted Belgium couverture chocolate crown

My DH really liked this dessert. It was beautiful & I felt a little jealous til I tasted mine.

Tasting of Gelato - featuring Italian vanilla bean, raspberry, and double chocolate

Now, I am a total chocolate lover so I started there & it was really good. My DS enjoyed most of the raspberry which was divine. But I promise you, the vanilla bean was by far the best tasting vanilla flavored anything, I have ever had in my entire life!!!! I find vanilla to be so boring, but this was maybe, the BEST dessert EVER!!! It was indescribable & the sample was not enough. It was my favorite thing I had this vacation.


Oh & I had a Bellini & my DH had a Heineken. We were given some sparkling water & coffee w/ our DDP. I was very excited about the sparling water, b/c I love bubbly drinks!! lol!!

Awesome reviews and I can't believe you haven't had steak for so long. But you picked a good place to try it again! I completely agree about Ohana - LC is usually my all time favorite but I ate at Ohana for the first time and it's now right up there with LC. I can't wait to go back! It looks like you had some great meals!!

Thank you! My family agree w/ you that LC was the favorite but I have been craving O'hana & Citrico's for days now!! Oh how I miss the food in WDW!!
