I know I saw a post on this but now I can't find it. Anyone remember? I think the idea was no FP was needed but the view of the show itself wasn't great. Thanks.

I screen shot that particular thread. If someone can tell me how to post an image I can upload it..I don't have the thread title so I can't search it.

Do you mean the loading dock for the Columbia/Mark Twain (in Frontierland) or the dock near Haunted Mansion? I think there might be some standby viewing area over by the dock near Haunted Mansion. On Sunday, the CMs were letting stand by guests line up near Harbor Galley just before 10:00 pm. I think they ended up letting them into an area near the the rafts, but I'm not 100% sure (it was to the left (when viewing the "stage") of the dining package viewing areas).

Yup, I was the OP of that thread. The idea is more to see a different perspective. You can't really see any of the projections and only get glimpses of what is happening on the island. But it is interesting to see the loading/semi-backstage area as well as boats before the lights go on them. I wouldn't recommend it for your first Fantasmic experience though.
