Sports Today...wut is wrong with sports????

Being that the NHL 2004-2005 season (i think) has been cancled, I'm not very upset. Being from Pittsburgh I'm all for the Penguins, but I have never been to a hockey game, I don't know any of the rules, and I never watch it on TV. I can't name 1 player from the Penguins. Still, for those who are into hockey, it's a major disappointment.

Then there's the steroids in baseball. I love baseball. ( GO PIRATES!!! ) This is also a disappointment because kids used to look up to these baseball greats and be like, "I want to be as great as baseball as Mark McGwire is.." and stuff like that. I think it ruins the whole mood of the game. We thought these people were greats, but now we learn that's it's the steroids that helps build this. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they have no skills, I just personally think it's an outrage.

My favorite sport.......basketball. The NBA has turned into more of a show then a game. Trust me, I love Vince Carter's amazing alley oops and Shaq's slam dunks. I just think they just want to look more promotional. Any body have any comments on these paragraphs, please post.

I'm not really into hockey, so I can't comment on that. But the whole thing with steroids in baseball is ridiculous.

The Hockey deal is pretty lame. The fact that all the guys are having to go play in little scrub leagues is more than sad. They all need to grow up and get back on track.

As for steroids in baseball... I'm all for it. However if you get caught, don't whine about it or lie and say you didn't. If you're going to cheat you have to be ready to suffer all consequences.

Basketball.... meh. It is just a show. Professional basketball anyways. I can stand to watch college ball... but I still can't say that I'm a fan.

And football. I don't have the patience to watch football. Offsides this, penalty for that. Just play the game guys. Oh yeah, and put more Janet Jackson on there.

i love watching hockey and football, idk, but it prolly has something to do with my school, they are big on hockey.

Baseball players HAVE to be better than everyone else so they take steroids. Why can't everyone just play on a balanced field{no one on steriods} and let your real talent speak for it self...and those truely gifted players are the ones who are the best...not the ones most doped up.

I TOTALLY agree with this statement. I can no longer stand to watch the NBA. Sure these guys are good basketball players...but it's no longer about the basketball. You can't just make a lay up anymore, you have to go behind your back, pass to the dude next to you, through the legs, to the other guy to dunk it. That's why i like NCAA or high school basketball REAL talent, REAL games, REAL people playing their hardest.

Could'nt have said it better myself talkischeap! It ridiculous! If we wanted to see people do that we could go see the harlem globe trotters! It ticks me off knowing that the sports I love are under fire because of steroid use. And what's up with Jose Canseco? He is just ravenous for an extra 10 minutes of fame. the guy will do anything... just go away jose.... and dont write anymore books!
