Sports Refurb Decision

Ok, we (DH, DD9, DD10, me) were planning on ASMo but with the refurb at Sports we are changing our mind (November Trip). ASMo/Mu will be more chaotic so not sure we want an All Star. However, is everyone going to feel this way and flock to POP? POP could be filled to capacity (not sure it isn't always anyway). Now we are talking about biting the bullet and going with a Mod for the extra expense (~$500), although it will kill me. We are hitting FD also so it would upgrade us to the regular plan, which we weren't expecting anyway.

So should we:

A. Suck it up and stay at ASMo?

B. Go to Sports and hope it is a ghost town?

C. Go to POP and hope for the best?

D. Spend the extra cash and attempt a Mod for the first time?

Any insight?

TIA

We are staying at Sports next month. I would say it really depends on how often you use the food court? We eat almost all our meals in the parks or breakfast in our room. Sports will have a grab and go food section, and it's walkable to the other All Stars if we did want a good court. I agree Pop could be really crowded and a Mod is expensive. Or just wait to decide after you start hearing trip reports back from people going once the food court closes and then decide how bad it will be or not.

Thanks for your help. POR is quite a leap in price. I was also worried about bussing from ASMo and ASMu if people go there to use the courts. Park buses could be packed. So I guess I am going between Sports (not excited about the theming but oh well) and POR.

My family has 3 rooms booked from back in February at the AS sports. We are a little worried about the whole food court and no arcade thing happening during our late August 2013 stay (in about 4 weeks). But we thought we could store some of our own food in the refrigerator. But now we hear the refrigerators have been shut off and will need to be replaced.

Even with all this we are still keeping our AS sports August 2013 reservations. My parents are just happy on the idea that all these AS sports rooms have just received a soft rehab.

So I guess some have moved to one of the other AS resorts (sections), some have moved to POP or upgraded to a moderate, and some (like my family) have decided to stay at AS sports. I'll guess some might change over to AS sports thinking it might be less crowded, like someone stated on this thread.

I'm not convinced AS sports will be less crowded. But, that would be a plus for us if that is the case. I'll post our experience when we get back (very late August).
