Spoodles

I am no suggesting any cancel there reservations, we just did like the food. the garlic lemon shrimp tasted alot like fettachini sauce with slies of lemon which I didn't like, I thought it would taste more like scampi. My DD food tasted terrible the meat had this almost burnt flavor, others my love it we just didn't like it at all.
We also ate at Portabello's- I think they have the best food in Disney... Rain Forest Cafe- Good food great atmosphere- we had Chicken Fried Chicken .... Sci Fi- It was o.k. but a fun place I had chicken ceasar salad We ate at Japan in Epcot It was good my DD did not like it. We tied to go to Tony's at the magic kindom ut they sais we needed reservations. The rest of our meals were counter service.

Ah, okay. "It wasn't what I expected" or "I didn't like the taste" isn't the same as the food being terrible. Thanks for the clarification!

If you cancel your plans for every bad review out there, I'm afraid you will be starving on your vacation.

This is probably the most important point to take from this discussion. No restaurant will satisfy everyone all of the time and many times it simply boils down to personal preferences. Whether or not a diner has "never" had a bad meal or whether they did really makes no difference to me since what one person considers to be "dee-licious" another may find revolting.

The only opinion that should matter is your own, so I would urge everyone to try it and see before attaching too much weight to what a stranger on the "net" thinks about a certain establishment.

Having said that, I'm not a Spoodles fan either. The menu cuisine doesn't appeal to me. But I did try it!

I completely agree. I have the perfect example. One trip, we decided to try San Angel Inn. Everyone was open to it, liking Mexican food for the most part. We all loved the atmosphere, but not all of us liked the food. I did and would definitely go back. My mother liked it as well. But our friend and my sister did not enjoy it as much. It wasn't that the food was bad. It just wasn't as good as they were expecting.

I have found that you have to take the reviews on these boards with a grain of salt. There are quite a few restaurants and CS places that I like that others here just don't. I like Tony's and Pizza Planet and Alfredo's. But there are plenty of others who don't. To each his own. That's why there is such a variety at WDW.

To me the food was terrible, I am not a picky eater so If I don't like the food at all it is terrible to me. This is JMHO ....

Judging by the other places you ate and what you ordered. It sounds like Spoodles wasn't your type of place anyway. Which is fine, everyone has different styles of dining.

You know, it's funny how people having the exact same experience can have completely different views. We had breakfast at Spoodles back in Oct. It was myself, my dd, 13, another mom and her dd, also 13. I have eaten at Spoodles before, for breakfast, and enjoyed it. However, as we were eating, this other dd said to her mother..."Man, these eggs are slimey and the sausage is green! Yuck!" Now, I had sausage and mine was fine, and the eggs were scrambled..not sure how they were slimey..perhaps undercooked. Her mother told her to just eat her breakfast. I don't think they enjoyed Spoodles nearly as much as I did. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I have to say that I was a bit put out by the young lady's comments though. It has been a running joke with my dd since then.

Completely understandable. But is it really reasonable to give any restaurant a thumbs-down icon because the food and its description didn't match one's expectations or interpretation of that description? The linguine seems to have a pretty accurate description on the menu, and the kabobs are oak-grilled. Is it possible what you tasted as "almost burnt" was actually the flavor from the wood chips?
