Just looking over my ADR and rethinking some of my picks. Right now were not sure if we'll be going to Epcot or Mgm for the day...but were leaning more towards MGM. Anywho...I currently have ADR at 50's PT but have considered changing it Mama Mels, Si-Fi OR Spoodles. I'm REALLY liking the menu at Spoodles....but i'm worried about the time it would take to go from MGM to Spoodles. What do you experts have to say about the best way to get from MGM to Spoodles along with the fastest way. Oh...also how long do you think it would take. PLUS what's the over all opinion on Spoodles in general....would it be worth going to? :goodvibes

There's a boat that runs from the entrance of MGM to the Boardwalk, which is about 100 yards from Spoodles. Go for it!

We really love Spoodles and eat there every trip. The boat isn't very fast, so plan plenty of time before your ADR.

You can either boat or walk from MGM. We take the boat and get off at S&D then it's a short walk to the Boardwalk. We LOVE Spoodles! The flatbreads and garlic shrimp appetizers are very good. The steak and salmon entrees were also very good. The Sangria is awesome. I think you'd really enjoy the atmosphere of the Boardwalk - go for it!!;)

The boat is very slow, you are better of getting off and the Swan and Dolphin as noted above. Spoodles is awesome! Never lets me down and much better that the restaurants in MGM. Mama Melrose is nice but no Spoodles :)

Thanks everyone for all the feed back. So we can walk from MGM to the Boardwalk? How far would you think it is? We'll have a large group ranging from 8-60 yr old. And how long would you guess it would take us to get there walking;) The more I'm hearing about Spoodles it sounds like a great choice.... If we went for it I'm thinking we'd go to MGM early then shoot for a ADR between 4-5:30....make the journery to dinner then back to MGM for the night time show. :goodvibes

The walk from MGM is about 10 minutes. The boat will take you longer since you might have to wait for one to arrive and I believe the Boardwalk is the last stop after the S&D and the B&Y Club. :hippie:

Give yourself about 40 minutes to Spoodles via boat. We like to go there and just order a bunch of appetizers, the shrimp is great!

Have a great time!

Do you always need ADRs for Spoodles? It sounds so good! We're staying at BWV and hope to eat there for lunch the first day we arrive. I'm not sure how much time to plan for Magical Express and pre-checkin, so I was hesitant to do ADR. Thanks for any help.

We do this all the time -- 10 minute walk tops. MUCH faster than the boat (unless it's the very end of the day-- those boats move pretty quickly then!!!)

It takes me about 15 minutes to walk from MGM to the Swan, and the Boardwalk is closer when you walk.

The boat takes just under 30 minutes to go from MGM to Epcot, and about 10 minutes to go from MGM to the Swan - where I would get off and then walk to the Boardwalk.

I really like both breakfast and dinner at Spoodles.

I love taking the boat from MGM to the Boardwalk...more time to rest my feet after the park!

Spoodles is great, one of my favorites. All the tapas/appitizers are great!

We went to Spoodles in 2005 from MGM. We took the boat. Allow yourself plenty of time for traveling. The boats are small, and the lines were long. We were almost late for our ADR, and we left about 45 minutes prior. Also, if you want to try to make it back to MGM for Fantasmic, make sure you make your ADR at Spoodles early enough that you can get back in time. Our dinner at Spoodles last 2 hours (service STUNK!!) and we were late for Fantasmic ( the boat captain was new, and just learning how to back the boat up and dock it, etc....it took ALOT of time!!!! Plus they made a few stops and she had to keep docking and launching. Not a great experience!!). They wouldn't let us into Fantasmic because it had already started. My kids were so disappointed!! Our ADR was at 5:00 and I think Fantasmic was at 8pm that night.

As for Spoodles food, we thought it was just OK. We weren't impressed. The service, as I had mentioned, was AWFUL. Afterwards, we all said how we should have had dinner at the 50's Primetime instead.

Good luck with your decision.

Oh boy....that makes me nervious. I went a head and made and ADR for Spoodles...BUT because our group is so large (16) they said they only allow large groups to make ADR within the first 30min of Spoodles opening or the last 30min before closing. Not knowing what sotr of time we'd need to eat and travel there and back along with not knowing what time fantasmic would be scheluled (parks open until 8pm) I went ahead and picked the later ADR....so were scheduled for 9:40:confused: I know it seems VERY late for dinner....but I figure we can have a nice lunch at MGM at 50's or Sci-fi earler in the day...or opt for a cs meal. Hopefully having that late of an ADR we'll be able to see Fantasmic then get to Spoodles in time for our ADR.

I've gotten quite a few mixed ideas on how long it takes to get from MGM to the Boardwalk. I don't think we'd be super slow walkers...but we will have younger kids as well as grandma walking with us... After looking at maps and distance I have a hard time believing it's only a 10 min walk. So...again....your saying it took you only 10 min to walk from the entrance of MGM to Spoodles on the Boardwalk???? Or is that 10 min to the Boardwalk from some other starting place? I've heard the friendship boats do make qutie a few stops before getting to the Boardwalk....and so it's sounding like maybe catching a boat then getting off at the Swan (?) then walking 10min may be the fastest way to get there?

Spoodles is my favorite Disney restaurant--we have always had good food and service and go on every trip. That said, with such a large group, I'm not sure I would trek over to Spoodles from MGM. We've never done the walk in only 10 minutes. I'd say it's 15-20. You might be better off at an MGM restaurant--so many have fun atmospheres. Perhaps you could get the Fantasmic package and then you would not have to worry about seeing the show.

I'm a very fast walker (long legs and I'm a runner) and it takes me about 7-10 minutes so I'd say it would take your group about 20 minutes. I'd budget 25-30 just in case; the walk along the canal is great, so this way you can enjoy the scenery! :thumbsup2

We are eating at Spoodles for the first time in May, and I'm SUPER excited!!! we didn't get there when we stayed at BW last year, so this year it was on the top of the list for us.

Something else I thought of...if your ADR is a 9:40 I'd give about 45 minutes because the BW at night is great..tons of action and things to do so you can stop and see the sights before dinner.
