Anyone have a review of spoodles anywhere? Has anyone eaten there with an opinion? Just curious if we should try it this trip. Right now I have a ressie at Alfredos in the WS. Any help would be appreciated.....

TIA...........

We've been staying away for a long time, since the menu changed for the worse. I'd been hearing that there was a new chef, so we decided to pop in last week, and things are definitely looking up. The menu's still the same as it has been, but the quality was very good. We split between two of us: two flatbreads, the dip platter (tzatziki, feta dip, hummus, and chermoula), and a pitcher of sangria, a common Spoodles meal for us.

The one thing to watch for is that the four cheese flatbread has a hint of blue cheese, which I don't believe it says on the menu. FH wasn't terribly thrilled, but I liked it. I think they might use the same chermoula recipe as Jiko, as the two tasted very very similar.

As for Alfredo's, we'd been a long time ago and hated it. However, we were there a couple months ago with a friend and decided to just have appetizers, and things were very good. We still need to go back and give a full meal a try there.

But for which one, either are just as good at this point, I'd just decide by where you are at the time and what you feel like.

I loved Spoodles. Went last year and it was an all around great experience. We are going again in December. We really enjoyed the dip platter. I had a steak and my DW had salmon. The creme brulee was probably the best we have had at WDW.

We have eaten at Spoodles on every trip since they opened and would not dream of missing it! It has gotten to be the traditional first dinner for us. When I bite into the cheesy gooey yumminess of the 4 cheese flatbread, I know I'm at WDW.

If you look on the dining review board, there have been several lately.

I just ate there last night! Our last dinner on the DDP. We were skeptical of eating there, due to the menu. (they only show about 6 entrees and we were looking for more of a variety. But we were unable to get an ADR anywhere else on such late notice so we said, what the heck."
There were 4 of us, DH, Me, DS(4) and DD (6 mos.)

Appetizers:
I ordered the shrimp for starters....YUM! They only give you three, but they are butterflied and very large! My husband ordered the lamb, (he said he liked it, but I tasted it and did not care for the consistency and the taste was a bit off for me and I LOVE lamb) my DS ordered Pepperoni flatbread which was big enough for him to eat as a meal. He enjoyed it of coarse.
Entrees:
My DS ordered the mac-n-cheese (how can you go wrong!) My DH ordered the NY Strip (Med/well) with mashed potatoes instead of the steak fries, and I ordered the seafood stew. The NY Strip came out more medium especially in the center portion, but my DH did not send it back and the mashed potatoes were not hot. So our server nicely brought him a new plate of steaming mashed potaoes. My stew was not disappointing on the fact that there were chunks of calamari, shrimp, mussels, oysters, and three huge scallops. (I was worried that there would only be bits and pieces of the seafood, but I was delighted with the contents. The broth that it was served in on the other hand was O.K. It could of had more seasoning, but other then that it was good.
Dessert:
Creme Brulee for me YUM! DS had a vanilla shake and DH had a creat your own sunday. THis is where service took a dive. We were sat next to the dessert station where he gets the tickets, fills the orders, etc. and we watched our order come up and be fullfilled. My DS shake came out of the back so he got it immediatly, however our order sat in the "window" for a good 10 minutes! (Hello, Ice cream melts.) Our waiter seemd to leave the planet at this time. I truely think he forgot because we were watching him and he looked over at the counter and in a surprised statement he asked another server to get our dessert. Thankfully the ice cream is served in a frozen bowl so it was ot melted.

Would I ever go here again, probably not. Especially w/ out the ddp. Our meal came to $130. There is NO WAY I would ever spend $130 out of pocket at Spoodles. But like I said we were on the DDP so we just figured we'd check Spoodles off of the list of places we ate. My meal was just good, nothing spectacular. My DH meal was sub par, my DS, well he had pizza and mac-n-cheese. What's not to love. The 6 month old, well, she had about 6 oz. of formula and zonked out! :rotfl2:
Really look at the menu and if there is omething that you would def. order and must have then go for it. Many people love Spoodles and you will find them on this board.
Enjoy!

We ate at Spoodles last December and I loved the shrimp Appetizer! The kids loved the make your own sundaes! It was not our favorite, but it was really good! Good luck! :thumbsup2

We always stay at the Boardwalk Inn and we've had breakfast at Spoodles daily each time. It is always wonderful!
We are going again for Thanksgiving and we'll be having breakfast at Spoodles.

:woohoo:
